The red campion is considered only slightly poisonous, which is mainly due to the saponins it contains. In larger quantities, they can trigger stomach complaints. No wonder, because they have a similar effect to soap - in the past, the roots of the red campion were also used for washing. However, some of the flowers can be used safely as a decoration in food, and the leaves are suitable in small quantities as an ingredient in wild herb salads or herb curd. In Italy, pasta is filled with the crushed leaves and cream cheese.

But that's not what prompted me to film the little flower. It was the beautiful pink/violet in combination with the fresh green. It is a truly beautiful and natural colour combination in nature.
