Keep your head up and your eyes on your partner in this game we call Shadow Dribbling.
Use a half court size space. Here's how it looks. Divide the group into pairs. Everyone gets a ball.
Line partners up facing each other about five feet apart. Choose a leader within each set of pairs.
On your call. Go! The leader starts dribbling the ball, crossing over between their dominant
and non-dominant hands. The other player follows their every move, dribbling in rhythm with them.
After 30 seconds, add some movement in and switch the leader in each pair. Our next step. We're gonna
work on mobility. All right, let's try it out. They shuffle from side to side as they dribble
while their partner shadows them. Here, players learn the importance of holding their head up
and keeping their eyes forward while dribbling. In the actual game, the ball handler needs to
maintain court awareness to see their teammates and the defense at all times. Let's go. Bring it in.
One, two, three. Let's go!
