My return to this painting of my brother

Art can be a slow process of learning and evolving both with techniques and personal inner growth. Here I am returning to the painting I had started of my brother as I have been able to control the lighting for this profile pose of him . I started the painting the end of 2019 or the very beginning of 2020 as I had returned from the NTD International figure painting competition in Nov 2019 and had learnt so much from the finalists there about their technique. I soaked it all up like a sponge .
So here, I hope to take you on a journey with this painting if I can set up something to hold my phone whilst I stand to paint, as standing gives me more control over what I am doing when I need to get all the proportions correct using the comparative measuring technique.
However in these films that I took, I was sitting so that I could easily clamp my phone behind me, but after this first return session I could see that I needed to be standing as there were a few measurements that were out and I couldnt get to the bottom of the problem sat over it so close but this is a start and I am grateful and happy for this opportunity with the return of classical realism .
