In 2021, Russia's announcement to NASA stating that "80% of the International Space Station has deteriorated and expired " raised significant concerns within the leading US space agency. Additionally, in 2022, Russia has also issued threats to withdraw from the space station, giving Nasa even more of a "headache", adding to its problems at the ISS.
