Vitznau-Rigi Railway: Europe's Oldest Mountain Railroad

Take a ride with us on the Rigi Railway – Europe’s the oldest mountain railroad! The rack railway in the Swiss Alps set off on its first trip for the first time way back in 1871, and immediately became an international sensation. DW reporter Axel Primavesi spent a day with Rigi Railways, and was even allowed to drive the steam locomotive. Axel's tour leads from Goldau up the Rigi mountain, and back down to Vitznau on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Get ready for a ride on a railroad classic - and to breathtaking views of the Alps!
