Exploring the Tunnels and Passageways inside the Paulinskill Viaduct

The Paulinskill Viaduct is a former railroad bridge located in Warren County, New Jersey, United States. It was built between 1908 and 1910 by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad to carry their Lackawanna Cutoff line over the Paulins Kill valley.

The viaduct is an impressive feat of engineering, with a total length of 1,100 feet and a height of 115 feet. It consists of nine concrete arches, each spanning 150 feet, and is considered to be one of the largest reinforced concrete structures in the world.

The viaduct was in use for several decades but was abandoned in the 1960s as part of the decline of passenger rail travel. In recent years, there have been efforts to preserve and potentially reuse the viaduct, which is currently owned by the State of New Jersey.

Today, the Paulinskill Viaduct remains a popular spot for photography and exploration, despite being closed to the public due to safety concerns. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered an important landmark in the region's transportation history.
