Seroe Colorado is located in Seroe Colorado on the very southeastern tip of Aruba. The Seroe Colorado Lighthouse, known also by the Colorado Point Lighthouse, is one of two currently active lighthouses on the island. It was originally built in 1881 out of stone and wood;
The light is displayed at the top of a 8-metre-high (26 ft) tower protected by a wire cage. With a focal height of 51 metres (167 ft) above sea level the light can be seen for 21 nautical miles.
During World War II, guns were placed on Colorado Point to protect the nearby oil refinery at Lago Colony.
On 31 March 1985, the day the Lago Oil Refinery closed, an anchor manufactured in Germany in the 1960s was placed on the beach.
Nowadays it is known for the Anchor in Memory to All Seamen.
The red anchor is almost five meters tall and has become an often-photographed tourist attraction.
