🎵 Easier to drown, oh oh oh oh 🎵
Not to be dramatic, but
this week was probably the best tasting week of my entire existence.
This video may have very much been just an excuse to eat fully vegan again
because the last two times I did this.
Guys, life changing.
But I thought, to spice things up a little bit,
I would have you guys control exactly what vegan foods I would be consuming this time.
Oh my god, yes. Oh my god, look at these blueberry bubbles.
Wow!
Which I originally thought, hey, this is gonna be great for my indecisive brain.
They'll just pick and I can sit back and relax.
And it was all fun and games until I was trying to narrow down
100,000 responses down to only 21 recipes.
Looks like a winner.
Three meals times seven days, you know, equals 21.
Just some, you know, quick maths for you.
I had to just scroll and scroll and stop my finger on the screen 21 times.
And that is how I decided the menu for today's video.
So welcome to vegan heaven.
And I hope you enjoy your visit.
Bye!
I made you a little snack.
It's vegan.
So good.
Miles, what about me?
I love it when people love my vegan creation.
I don't know what it is about homemade granola that just hits differently.
This was just a perfect peanut buttery, crunchy, delicious, single serving granola.
And I've also been on this protein kick recently
just to see how it improves my overall strength and workouts.
Whatever, you know, not that interesting.
So I mix some vegan protein powder with almond milk and use it as my milky base.
Obsessed.
My protein energy.
That's so good.
I'm really into the milk with the protein powder.
Oh my god, and the granola kind of soaks up the milk.
I can cut it.
Nobody trusts me.
Before I forget to say this,
I'm not trying to tell you to go vegan, okay?
Or that you need to eat more tofu and vegetables and peanut butter covered things.
This video is not sponsored by vegans or tofu.
But, you know, if peanut butter did want to sponsor me,
I could happily retire and leave this earth peacefully.
That hasn't happened yet, but a girl can dream.
You're right.
I'm crazy.
Check out our little garden.
Baby cilantro.
As always, I'm simply just showing you my love for food.
That there is no such thing as a recipe rut
to maybe inspire you to spend a little bit more time in the kitchen
or to cook with your family or friends.
Oh, it smells so good.
My love, it smells so good.
This smells so insane.
Or maybe you're like eating with me on the other side of the screen,
like a little internet date.
I'm a chef.
Guys, are you seeing this right now?
Are you seeing this right now?
Okay, let's try.
Peanut sauce.
Maybe these videos are that little push you need when you know you should eat,
but you can't bring yourself to.
I'm really here to just say, hey,
healthy and happy means something different to everyone.
And yours doesn't have to look like mine.
And mine doesn't have to look like yours.
Wow.
Delicious.
Vegan.
Late night mug cake.
But the main takeaway I need you to leave here with today is that
when you're bored of what you're eating,
trust me, there's a tofu version out there that you haven't tried yet
and will most likely pleasantly surprise you.
Always want to cross your fingers
because I have bad luck with mug cakes.
They just explode before it gets out of me.
Stay in.
Just press it.
You can do it.
God, it smells so good.
Just need some appreciation.
Do you guys actually not like absolutely despise the taste of celery?
Like, I can't get my tongue near that stuff.
And of course, while I was scrolling through your recipes,
my finger landed on green juice.
And I just pretended not to see it.
And then it landed on homemade celery shots or something.
And I was like, is this the universe trying to tell me something?
And then I realized, wait a minute.
Something green, something good for me,
something filled with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and just health.
It doesn't have to be a funky-tasting celery ginger shot.
It can be AG1.
I have been downing my AG1 for the past couple of months,
whenever I can remember or whenever my mom reminds me.
It's just the way I say, hey body, thank you.
Here's a little gift to you for just working so hard.
I feel better in my body because I know I'm taking little actions like this
that I know are just so good for me and supporting all my goals.
Because my focus at this point in my wellness, health, life journey
is just nourishment, improving energy, mood, mental health, and clarity,
and building a strong immune system, and doing nicer things for my body.
And just one scoop, one minute, once a day, every day, that's it.
And I'm very proud to announce that I've also got my parents hooked.
It's like AG1 family bonding time.
AG1 time!
And now that summer is here, finally.
We love drinking it while soaking up some sun,
also getting some much needed vitamin D after the long, long Canadian winters.
So tap the link in the description to get a one year supply of vitamin D3, K2,
and five free travel packs with your first purchase.
Cheers!
I am being completely transparent.
I am broke.
Because I spent a solid couple too many dollars on vegan Greek yogurt
and vegan chocolate this week.
Wow, it's like a mousse.
However, I've never in my life felt more grateful for peanut butter plants
or bushes or whatever they grow on.
Like, just thank you to the peanut butter creators of this world
that peanuts grow in the earth and don't come from eggs
and are affordable and vegan.
That's sensational.
Off topic, moving on.
This overnight oak creation, for you chocolate lovers out there,
will blow your mind.
Oh my god.
What the?
This is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen.
Like the creamy chocolate frosting.
Oh, goosebumps.
Oh my god.
You really are a genius.
Let's try it.
Ready?
Big moment, big moment.
Yogurt just shouldn't taste that good, but it did.
Like, this made the $40 spent on yogurt worth it, I think.
I'm drooling.
The chocolate mousse is so decadent,
but it's literally just Greek yogurt.
Chocolaty and sweet and smooth and creamy.
Go make this right now.
You guys want some?
Go make your own.
I realized I forgot something very important.
Just when you thought it could not get better.
It does.
If you hate tofu, love tofu, or are just casually seeing tofu,
I don't care what your relationship with tofu is.
Make this.
My friend Zoe makes this combo look too good,
so I had to try it out.
And yes, of course, I thought it was literally amazing.
But my mom's reaction.
I think this changed her life.
I actually don't think she's liked anything I've made this much.
She said this was the best tofu she's ever had,
and she's had 60 years of tofu experience.
So if that's not enough to convince you to make this,
I don't know what is.
Let's make it saucy.
Wow.
It looks fire.
It smells really cute.
Wow.
Oh my god, this looks so good.
You like it?
What do you rate it out of 10?
My mom is in shock.
This is a beauty bite.
Wow.
The flavor.
We're about to make something very, very exciting.
Recipe says I need aqua...
It's like the liquid from this chickpea can.
Interesting.
I want to talk to you guys about one of my new goals.
I want to be a nicer person.
I never thought of myself as mean,
but then I'm like, how do I explain all those times
where I'm bringing myself down
and beating myself up with unkind words and unfair expectations?
I forgot the blueberries.
I'm kind of mean to myself.
And when I'm mean to me,
it makes me believe the mean things other people
or the comments say to me too.
It's just like a mean self-sabotaging circle.
Okay, let's break her open.
Oh my gosh.
So moist.
You can have the first bite.
Wow.
That's so good.
I might have to eat two or three.
Or all of them.
Oh my god.
The texture is better than a muffin.
One of my subscribers.
So I've been trying to replace these mean things
I say to myself and my body with compassion,
kindness, gentleness.
Professional broccoli and sweet potato maker.
Oh my gosh.
Oh wait, I'll eat one.
I'll eat these in the meantime.
I would want other people to like me for more than my body proportions and face and size.
I would want them to like me for my company,
my thoughts and opinions, my interests, my passion for nuts.
And I want to like myself for those reasons too.
Are you waiting for dinner?
I'm really glad one of you decided to recommend the tahini dressing.
Put tahini dressing on anything, I promise you.
Phenomenal.
Happy.
Making banana mug cake.
I'm really excited.
At the end of the day, it's not worth letting your body determine
your mood, your worth, your entire day.
That's an entire freaking day wasted.
Over what?
Instead of being upset because you didn't lose X amount of weight
or you didn't go to the gym X amount of times,
instead, celebrate the positive actions you did take.
Be proud of yourself for moving your body at all this week.
For ditching diet culture, for going out to eat to celebrate your body
and this life with good food, good company.
I don't want to focus on what doesn't look good enough
because it honestly just feels better to focus on just feeling good.
And I don't know.
I always think I look better when I feel better.
My mood is better, so I'm a nicer person to be around.
Food tastes better.
Movement is more fun.
But just a little reminder, you have so much to love.
And being kinder never hurt anyone.
Bet you can't guess what we're about to make
because I've never heard of it before either.
Oh, that noise was lovely.
I just want to know who thought of this.
Like, whose mind thinks of bread and then is like,
hey, let's dip this into a blended tofu mixture.
Tofu French toast.
Genuinely don't know how this is going to turn out.
Hoping for the best.
Oh my god, this strawberry is so sweet.
God, it's crazy.
Might just be me, but not exactly what I would define as appetizing.
So yeah, I don't know who thought this would be a good idea.
Let me just say, they were kind of on to something.
Okay, all over the pants.
It's okay.
Gentle.
Okay.
It's working.
Um, excuse me.
This looks crazy.
Oh my god, am I a chef?
I've never been prouder of myself.
Wow.
Stop.
I made this.
Honestly, whoa.
Tofu becomes like this custard.
I can't.
I can't do this.
Okay.
Oh my god.
I'm not even a French toast fan, but I'm a tofu French toast fan.
I didn't even use good quality bread.
I just used frozen bread.
Baked chocolate chip cookies.
This here is why I don't create my own vegan recipes, and I only trust you guys.
Because I did try to make vegan chocolate chip cookies.
And I can't tell you what happened, but something definitely went a little wrong.
Little bit concerning.
Still look good.
Interesting exterior.
Hey, they're kind of wrinkly.
They look kind of good.
They kind of look like pancakes.
Doesn't look terrible.
I like it.
It's different.
That would be good.
Ice cream cookie peanut butter.
Makes it the best cookie ever.
So how did I feel this week?
Other than, you know, stuffed with tofu, and I mean that in the most positive way possible.
I've been feeling, in every way that this can be felt, free.
And it feels so good to really feel that again.
A little sticky.
Flaxseed expired.
Food freedom, I've learned, has had a different definition for me in every stage of my life.
And has looked really different for me, and on me, over the years.
It's a lot flatter than I wanted it to be.
It's soft.
It's not supposed to be that soft.
But this week, it looked like being so excited to cook and try new things.
Going back for a fourth serving, just because it was really yummy, okay?
It looked like not obsessing, or guilt tripping, or restricting.
It felt like eating because I'm simply a hungry human.
I don't know if it was the magical vegan food, or the yummy vibes,
or if it was all the days over the past couple of months of just trying my best,
even when I felt far from my best, starting to finally pay off.
So excited to see how you turn out.
Oh, it exploded.
It exploded.
It's gonna be okay, it's gonna come.
Damn.
Smells so good.
Hot.
But good.
The beans, I've never thought about that before.
But I feel really good.
Really full, really alive, really full of life again.
It's cringy, it's cheesy, what's new?
But it's true.
Maybe it feels like it's never gonna pass.
Or you feel like you just can't do it.
But don't give up.
Keep focusing on you, little by little, day by day, meal by meal.
You will find it, and you will get it.
I'm gonna make some toast.
Ow, I'm bleeding.
Why did I know that was gonna happen?
A part of me has always been curious and weirdly drawn to the idea of scrambled tofu.
I just felt like, it can never replace an egg.
Like, there's no way, the texture's just not it.
Looks like scrambled eggs.
Don't judge a food by its texture.
I just need to start believing in tofu more, because I swear, she never disappoints.
Good for tofu for proving me wrong.
We got some sweet, and we got some savory.
Who made this?
How crazy.
I have become a chef this week.
What the?
Scrambled tofu.
Honestly, that's fire.
Really good.
Avocado and tofu scrambled.
So many worlds are colliding.
But the bed of sweet potato adds like this sweet and salty-
Oh, shi-
That's fire.
Whoever invented this, genius.
Worth cutting my thumb.
So, I wanna tell you guys about a little date I went on recently.
They were pretty, you know, average at first.
Didn't feel that spark, you know?
Okay, so I saw this on Instagram Reels.
Once we started talking more, I realized they were so sweet, and warm, and gooey, and filled with so much love.
And we finished the night off with some chocolate and peanut butter, and it was perfect.
Pretty hot date, I'm not gonna lie.
And I will definitely be going on a second one.
Definitely try.
And a kiwi.
Let's make risotto!
You know how some things are just like package deals?
Like peanut butter and jelly, salt and pepper, Caroline Gervin and pain, my mother and Milo.
The onion slayer.
I think I've always done that with vegan foods and healthy foods.
Other than the fact that vegan comes with so much more than just food.
Like, it's an entire lifestyle.
What I'm trying to say is that so many diets and lifestyles can be healthy for some people, and can be equally unhealthy for others.
You can thrive as a vegan, vegetarian, meat lover on a pancakes everyday diet.
You can also be restrictive and have a poor relationship with food as an intuitive eater.
Intermittent fasting, or on a keto or gluten-free diet, or whatever.
Risotto, everyone.
I know!
The thing is, you can get all your nutrients, you can eat all your greens, you can have enough energy to go to the gym.
Life tastes so good.
But you still might not be living a healthy lifestyle, have a healthy relationship with food, or have a healthy body image.
Your relationship with food is not just what you eat.
It's how you think about food, act around food, rules around food.
How you feel before and after eating, understanding fullness and hunger.
It's complicated, it's individual, and it takes time.
So be patient, work on yours, and don't try to recreate someone else's.
Pre-shower snack, and then make more food.
Me and Tofu have had a very positive experience these past few days.
The main character of this video really is just Tofu.
And today she's meeting the other main character of my life, protein oats.
I was afraid this was going to be the worst decision I've ever made, because two positives, as science has taught me and dating has taught me, do not attract.
But I think we've defied science and the universe today, because I think I just made the fluffiest, creamy protein oats to exist.
Wow, doesn't that look like a delicious bowl?
You just want to...
Holy smoke.
Mmm.
Wow.
Get it in my tummy.
Oh no, all the fluffiness.
Yeah, yeah.
Mmm.
All the Tofu recipes made me really skeptical at the beginning of the week.
They're literally amazing, all of them.
Never underestimate the power of Tofu.
Mmm.
Try it.
Damn, these are beautiful.
Oh my god.
Mommy, try cookies.
Mmm.
Oh.
Looking yummy.
I was planning on making another recipe, but then I was craving this really bad, so then I was like, okay.
I'm listening to my cravings.
I think this wooden spoon makes everything taste good.
Or maybe it's the peanut butter.
Healthy for me right now means being flexible.
Maybe going vegan for a week.
Another cookie.
Maybe eating out every day because I'm traveling.
Not stressing about not having control.
I think we just need to stop perpetuating what our own ideas of healthy are on other people,
or basing our own health on how other people feel they're healthiest.
We all have different preferences and priorities, lifestyles, fitness levels, and goals,
and different pasts with food.
And it's crazy, like what's worked for me before wouldn't work for me now.
The healthiest version of me sometimes is hungry and craving a peanut butter jelly sandwich at 12am,
or two granola bars instead of one, or has a second or third lunch.
And that's perfectly healthy and perfectly okay.
And for me, nothing feels better than eating peanut butter rice cakes at 11pm.
It is a gloomy day today, but it is strawberry season.
When strawberries are sweet, life is just so much better.
And while my little vegan week is not as cool as, you know, going to Paris,
which I feel like everyone's doing right now, or as extravagant as a makeover glow-up,
not every change has to be huge to make a difference.
Not every challenge has to be life-changing or make you fitter or healthier.
Not every finish line is going to give you a new perspective.
But I got a lot out of this week.
I learned time spent doing something I love, as in eating, cooking, is never wasted time.
Dance breaks are the best way to rest between workout sets for me.
Wow. My mom. Wow.
And hot dates are just so much better than real dates with real people.
All these pancakes for myself.
Shout out Banana Food Lifestyle for giving me inspiration for these pancakes.
She also used pistachio butter, which I've honestly never heard of before, but I want now.
Look at these hidden strawberry gems.
So fluffy.
What a beautiful combination.
If you seriously thought I wouldn't hop on, jump tackle, body check this trend aggressively,
we clearly do not spend enough time together.
Reese's are the way to my heart.
No combo will ever beat the peanut butter chocolate one.
Whoever started this trend needs to be rewarded with a lifetime supply of rice cakes, peanut butter, and melted chocolate,
because I knew this was going to taste good.
Like, how could it not?
But it has truly exceeded all my expectations.
Hey, it never turns out as beautiful as the real as I see on Instagram.
Oh my god.
This might be the best thing I made all week.
Oh, the salt chocolate.
Ridiculous. You have to go make this for yourself right now.
Just go. Go. Do it. Bye.
Layla. For you.
The queen of Biscoff herself ordered me to try this Biscoff stuffed baked oats recipe,
and I mean, anything Biscoff I already know is going to be heavenly,
even though I did forget to blend the oats, which I feel like was a very key step to the recipe.
My brain sometimes just doesn't turn fully on.
Anyways, she was still perfect in her own way.
Just a little more textured than we would have liked it, but it's okay.
You have to go make this right now.
Come on.
Thank you, Layla, for the recipe.
It's just perfect.
Garbage bowl time.
Garbage.
Oh, garbage.
What else can be garbage?
Garbage.
Perfect.
Add some leftover tofu to throw in my garbage bowl.
A little life update.
My stomach is really happy.
I'm also just really happy.
Foods are filling me with happy.
Filming this video, just happiness.
Editing it, happiness.
And honestly, I've just been so content with how I'm living and who I am and my own company
and how I'm taking care of myself.
Mm-hmm.
Whoa.
Oh, my God.
Tastes like McDonald's.
Oh, my God.
That sauce.
And nothing feels better than that.
I hope that we can all just be unapologetically happy in ourselves and confident
and not afraid of simply just feeling good in our own skin.
I want us to feel all the feelings, the good and the bad as they come
and eat what you want, when you want, just because.
Because nothing feels better.
Not a new diet, not a new relationship, not a new wardrobe, not a new weight.
Nothing feels better than just being happy, being you, working on you, for you.
Okay, just to take a moment.
My dad wanted cow's milk, and we never buy cow's milk.
And so my mom bought him cow's milk.
But then because we haven't had cow's milk in so long, we didn't have the carton anymore.
So she DIY'd a milk carton out of a Lysol wipes container.
I mean, it works.
Anyway.
Oh, this makes me so nervous.
I know we tend to get pretty deep about food and fitness over here,
and there's nothing I love more than getting in my feels with food and life.
But I think these weeks perfectly showcased the other side of my relationship with food
and how food has really become part of what makes life fun for me.
A little bit more peanut butter.
That's why not.
I blame Instagram reels.
All of my reels are just over an hour.
I'm so creepy.
This is unfair to all the other breakfast foods.
How do I stand a chance?
How?
Eating, cooking, testing new foods, making mistakes, planning recipes, learning,
testing different diets and workouts, oats, and just letting go.
Having fun, embracing it all, and allowing food to just be fun.
Hi-ya!
And this mindset?
I think we need a little bit more of that.
Like, just do it.
Just for fun.
Just to feel good because you love it.
Because it makes you happy.
Looks phenomenal.
And no other reason.
That thing you've been thinking about doing, or eating, or trying?
I think you need to go do that.
Right now.
And I also think you need these vegan recipes in your life.
Except the protein cookie one.
You can definitely just take a pass on that.
This is crazy.
This is beautiful.
Oh my god.
God.
Am I a genius?
I took off my sweater because I already knew I was going to stink.
Mm-hmm.
Nice beat.
This might.
Mm.
Mommy, do you want to try a bite?
I know you want to.
Mm.
It's good.
It's cauliflower.
$25.10.
You should eat more.
I'm going to make my mom try this vegan breakfast.
But yeah, thanks for stopping by.
I will see you guys very soon.
And not to be dramatic, but I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love tofu, I love you.
Okay, bye.
You play a perfect way to end off any video.
The huge plate of pancakes.
