I love these yoga for women grounding classes because they bring out a vulnerability, a sweetness, and also a power that comes with stepping into our femininity more fully. It feels like yoga for feminine health - like a big hug.
The class is exceptionally great for yoga for your period or yoga for menstruation.
That being said, women and men are *both* warmly invited to practice this class. We all have femininity and masculinity within us. Everyone needs to be held sometimes.
Please consult with your physician before beginning this yoga for women class. Welcome to this yoga class to tap into your beautiful feminine energy. We are going to
shoot it straight from the heart in this class. We're not going to worry too much about alignment.
Instead, we are going to focus on moving with intuition and moving in ways that just feel good.
So this is a very grounding class. So make sure that you're wearing something comfortable,
something that you feel good in. And before we start, maybe you prime your environment and
tidy up or bring some plants nearby. I have my candle here. I have some eucalyptus essential oil,
nice and grounding. And I have a pillow for the back part of class. So if you have a blanket
or a bolster or a pillow, go ahead and grab that and have that nearby.
So I'm going to take two drops of my essential oils or however many come out in my hands.
And I'm just going to place that right in my palm. And if you don't have essential oils,
you can do this without it. But bring both palms together, start to rub them together,
create some heat, feel your energy, tactically feel your hands touching each other.
If you have essential oil, take a deep inhale. Beautiful. Gently close your eyes if you haven't
already. And take your fingertips touching each other very lightly, fingertips to fingertips.
And take your fingertips and run them up your arms very slowly, just caressing your body
just very gently and lovingly up your arms, up your neck. Maybe you gently massage your neck a
bit, down your chest, your breasts, your stomach, hips. Feel the roundness of your hips, the power
of your hips, your thighs. Nice and gentle, almost tingly. Your calves, your feet. Giving
ourselves this beautiful tension all over our body. And then relax your hands onto your knees
in an easy seat. And we'll take big circles with the chest. So on your inhale, reach your
chest forward. And on your exhale, round it back. And inhale brings you forward. And exhale brings
you back. And you can make these circles as big or as wide as you want to. Start to pair your
breath deeply with your movements. You can move fast or slow. There's no wrong way for you to do
this so long as you're breathing and feeling into it. Switch the direction of your circle.
Beautiful. Roll over your knees. Reach both legs back and lay on your stomach. Tense your fingers
gently off the mat. Engage the legs. Press into the floor with the top of your feet so much so
that your knees come off the ground. And with your shoulders down your back, on your inhale,
rise your chest forward. Cobra. Exhale, come down. Let your forehead rest on the mat.
On your inhale, your chest rises first. Then your head. Exhale, chest comes down. Then your head.
So a big wave with your body. Feeling really sweet. Coming up as much as you feel like you
need to. Inhale up. Exhale down. Inhale up. Exhale down. Maybe you go side to side. Inhale
to the left. Inhale up and to the right. Beautiful. Two more. Beautiful. Bring your elbows
right under your shoulders. Shine the chest forward with a long neck. Gaze at your fingertips.
Sphinx pose. Shining your chest forward. Relaxing the shoulders down the back with a long neck.
Shining your sweet heart center forward. Maybe a little smile comes to your face.
Gentle stretch. And then come up to a tabletop position. We'll take intuitive movements here.
So you can take traditional cat-cows where you look up. Tummy drops and tailbones rise.
And then round. Chin to chest. Press the mat away. Make space between your shoulder blades.
Or maybe you round to the right. Coming into cat-cow circles. Getting into the hips.
Allow this to be a little animalistic. Don't think about the way that it looks.
And you can linger in certain spots for longer. Just think about the way that it feels in your
body. How can you release? How can you relax? How can you feel good here? Beautiful.
Cross your right ankle over your left knee. So you're in this figure four, but we're on a
tabletop. And then walk your hands forward. Tabletop puppy pose. Or figure four puppy pose.
Dripping your chest onto the mat. Feeling a beautiful stretch in your shoulders.
Let's add on. Exhale, round your chin to chest. Like a mini cat pose.
Inhale, look up towards your fingertips. Exhale, round. Inhale, arch. Exhale, round.
Inhale, beautiful. Arch your spine. Take easy breaths here. Open through your beautiful heart
center. And walk your hands back. Remove your right leg. Come to a tabletop. And we'll switch
out with your left leg. Your ankle right on top of that right knee. And walk your hands forward.
Figure four puppy pose. And we'll take those same cat cows. So exhale, chin to chest. Round
through the back. Inhale, look up towards your fingertips. Exhale, round. Inhale, look up.
One more time. Exhale, round. Inhale, look up. Sink in. Maybe you take side to side
movements here. Find a little bit of depth. Beautiful. Walk your hands back towards your
body. Uncross your left leg. Tuck the toes. Center the hips. Back, back, back. And then
up into downward dog. And find any movement in your downward dog that feels good for you today.
Maybe you take wide feet and press through your hands. And slow with many steps, kiss the mat
with each step on the way up as your feet meet your hands. And fold forward over your legs,
grabbing either elbow, allowing gravity to assist you, opening through your hips,
your calves, relaxing the back of the neck. Allow this to feel so safe in your body
with bent legs or straight legs. Then bend your left leg. Plant your left hand and inhale your
right arm up for a twist. Beautiful. Reach up with your right hand, opposing energies,
expanding our body. And exhale it down. Bend the right leg. Plant the right hand. Inhale the left
arm up. Beautiful. Expanding in all directions, reaching through your neck, reaching back with
your hips, reaching up with your left hand and down with your right. And exhale, plant it down.
Step the right foot back. The back knee meets the mat. Untuck the back toes. On your inhale,
bring your arms skyward. And on your exhale, your hips come forward and down. Low lunge,
Anjaneya Asana. Bring your right hand down to the mat, reaching your left arm up,
taking a little bit of a back bend, allowing your hips to go where they may.
Then straighten through the front leg. Maybe your right hand comes to your right foot
and reach back, almost like a half camel with an extended leg, opening beautifully through your
heart center. Beautiful. Start to re-bend your leg. Waterfall both hands down to frame your front foot.
Tuck the back toe. And step back to downward dog. Inhale, ripple it up to a plank.
Bring your knees down. Bring your chest down. And bring your chin down. Your hands under your
shoulders. This is appropriately called knees-chin-chest pose. Feel it in your neck,
your throat chakra open. Three easy breaths here. Beautiful. Press into your hands. Inhale to an
up dog. Shine the chest forward. Look up towards the sky. And exhale, downward dog.
Bring the feet as wide as the mat. Walk your hands towards the center of the mat.
Press in with your right hand and take your left hand towards your right ankle. Downward dog twist.
Look up under your right arm. Replace your right hand with your left hand. Reach back with your
right hand to your left ankle and look up under your left arm. On your inhale, come back to center.
Feel the beautiful energy running through your body. Your body opening with your breath.
And with many steps, kissing the ground each time. Step up to meet your hands.
Inhale to a half lift. Shoulders down the back. Exhale, fold it in. Reaching the hips up towards
the sky. Opening beautiful through the back of your legs. Inhale to a half lift. And exhale,
step your left foot back in space. The back knee meets the mat. Untuck the back toe. And on your
inhale, breathe your arms overhead. On your exhale, sink the hips forward and down. A beautiful
opening in the left side of your hip. Take a look up at your fingertips.
Bring your left hand down to the mat. Your right arm reaches up and back.
Opening through the entire front chain of the body. Beautiful energy. Then with control,
straighten that front right leg. Your left hand reaches for your back heel.
Maybe reach towards the back of the room. With control, re-bend the leg.
Both hands meet the mat. Tuck the back toe. Step back into downward dog. Inhale, roll with a
beautiful spinal wave up to plank pose. Knees come down. Chest comes down. Hands under shoulders.
Chin to mat. Knees chin chest pose. Walk your chest back if you have a little more space.
Five breaths here. Press into your hands. Inhale to an up dog. Exhale, down dog.
Step your right foot up between your hands. Pivot your body towards the long edge of the mat for a
wide-legged forward fold. Both toes pointing forward. Release your hips. Relax your upper
body and relax your neck. Finding any movement that feels good here. Maybe you sway side to side.
Maybe you grab your ankles and pull it in. Then heel toe your feet together.
Sink your hips down to malasana yogi squat. Feel beautiful opening in the entirety of your hips.
Use your elbows to bring your knees wide. Come long in the spine. Proud with the chest.
Easy with the face. Feel a sense of ease here. Then sit down all the way on your mat. Extend
your left leg long. Extend your right leg long. We'll find some intuitive movements in straddle
pose before we sink in. Inhale to a long spine. Exhale, reach your right arm over to the left
in any way that feels good. On your next breath, reach your left hand over to the right.
Make it flowy like an ocean wave. Move in whatever way, however deep you want to.
Maybe you turn towards your leg. Maybe you open towards the back. There is no wrong way to do
this. Just move in an intuitive way that feels really beautiful in your body. Then come up to
center. Grab your bolster or your blanket or your pillow. Set it right in front of you and fold
gently forward in your straddle. Not pushing or crunching. Just allowing this to feel like a deep
stretch in your hips. Relaxing the face. Relaxing the space between each of your eyelids.
Releasing the shoulders down the back. Feeling a sense of sweetness and calmness.
Slowly start to walk your chest upright. Bend your left knee with your hand and bring your foot in.
Bend your right knee with your hand and bring it in. We'll do a gentle release. So coming back to
straight orientation on your mat. Both feet firmly on the floor. Drop both knees to the left
and drop both knees to the right and to the left and to the right. Come to an easy seat on your mat
with your arms, your eyes closed. Inhale your arms overhead. Look up and exhale. Wrap your arms
tightly around yourself. Giving yourself all the love. Deeply appreciating your sacred heart,
your sacred mind, the time you take for yourself. You managed your energy beautiful.
You can take this practice off the mat and into your day.
Put your hands right at the third eye. Namaste. Well done. That is such a feel-good class. I always
feel so authentic and sweet and calm and grounding after practices like this. And it lasts
throughout the whole day, sometimes for days afterwards. And I feel like it's such a good
space to be in. So I hope that you feel amazing. There are more classes that tap into feminine
energy on my channel. I hope that you feel amazing and I hope that you have a beautiful
and powerful and intuitive rest of your day.
