Hello everyone it's jennifer from Tarle speech with your two for Tuesday homophone lesson. Homophones are words that are pronounced exactly the same way but they have different spellings and different meanings. Our words today are chased which means to pursue and chaste which means celibate or pure.
So to say these words correctly let's start with that ch sound. I write this sound with two letters. It's considered a digraph - those are two letters that make one sound. To make this sound you're going to touch the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth. To be very specific where the teeth meet the skin on the roof of the mouth. Touch the tongue tip there to start that sound and then pull it back into the middle of the mouth while the air puffs out.

My lips are also rounded. Next we're going to move to that long a and to do that open your mouth wide and then move to a smile. Your tongue tip will start low in the mouth and then it will end flat in the middle of the mouth. A.
Next add that s. To do this the tip of your tongue is behind your teeth and it is not touching, can be slightly pointed down, or just behind the top front teeth for that s sound. ssssss Air moves out of your mouth then end by touching the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth for that t. As you pull the tongue down at the end, the air will puff out.
