About Fung Bros: David and Andrew Fung are fascinated by hip-hop, comedy, and food. They love making funny rap songs, trying new food, and making people laugh. Welcome to the official Fung Bros Channel!
What's going on everybody? Welcome to a very, very special San Francisco edition of Fungo's Food.
David here. I just flew in from New York. Andrew, you just flew in from L.A.
We had to meet up on a beautiful fall day here in SF to embark on a very, very special food crawl.
We got challenged to hit up seven of the tastiest must-try spots around the city in seven hours.
That's because the new Pixel 2 gets a seven-hour battery life off a 15-minute rapid charge.
And we got to give a huge shout out to Google Pixel 2 for this paid partnership
and hooking us up with some brand new phones.
These are really going to come in handy for this food crawl.
Yo, David, are you ready? Let's go.
All right, you guys, we just arrived at our very first spot.
I charged the Pixel 2 for 15 minutes, giving it seven hours of battery life.
So we are ready to go.
We are in front of Turtle Tower. This is a northern Vietnamese style spot.
It is famous for its chicken pho
and something that neither of us had had before, the stir-fry pho.
What? That sounds crazy, y'all. Let's go.
Okay, man, we got our food. David right sitting in front of me.
I have the pho guy, the chicken pho. This is what they're really famous for.
Man, look at all those scallions.
I have something that I think a lot of people would find interesting.
It's called stir-fried pho.
The fact that the northern pho uses wide rice noodles allows it to work.
Let me take a picture of this stir-fried pho before I eat it.
The detail.
That's clean.
That's nice.
You know, we eat a lot of pho. We eat a lot of Asian food.
And to open up the day with a stir-fried pho, which I personally never had before,
that's an experience.
That is the right way to kick off the day.
To the rest of the SF Food Crawl.
Bug out for breakfast.
All right, we are here at our second spot on this crazy SF Food Crawl.
We are in front of a spot called HRD.
This is a traditional coffeehouse turned global fusion food hub.
What does that mean? Let's take a look.
David, I'm looking at a shrimp katsu po' boy.
I've had fried shrimp before, but never in the actual katsu batter.
Now it's laid on a bed of chopped kimchi with a spicy kimchi aioli sauce on it.
David, what do you got?
What I've got in front of me is a spicy pork kimchi burrito.
I'm going to try to take a bite of this.
Wow.
I'm not going to lie, this is not the first kimchi burrito I've had,
but this is by far the best kimchi burrito I've had.
I believe it, man.
Here at HRD, the human resources department, they do it right.
It's global fusion food, very San Francisco.
All right, we have made it to our third spot.
Our battery's still looking good on our Pixel 2.
And we are at a spot called Rooster and Rice.
They serve Thai chicken and rice, aka khao mung gai, but a premium version.
Let's go.
David, we got the food lined up, man.
What are we looking at?
We're looking at the original paleo.
We're trying to reduce the carb.
And then here we've got a vegetarian.
All right, let's go into it.
So good.
Just because we're not vegetarians, doesn't mean we don't care about the vegetarian one.
David eating paleo right here.
I feel like habanero, David, has kind of made its way into the mainstream.
And almost, it's kind of like a sriracha pepper.
Everybody's with it.
I heard a lot about this spot.
And I have to say, it totally lived up to the hype.
Next spot we got has cool Pan-Asian dishes with a cool name, namu gaji.
Battery check, we're good.
Let's go.
All right, man, we're here at namu gaji.
And we had to get these two dishes.
David, in my bowl right here, I got a loco moco, a Hawaiian dish.
Of course, starting off the bat, they sprinkled some scallions on there.
So already, I'm feeling it.
I have in front of me a Korean seafood pancake.
That is a fusion between Korean seafood pancake
you might get at a Korean barbecue or a tofu spot.
And the Japanese okonomiyaki, which is a bonito pancake.
Yo, that's really good loco moco, man.
Loco.
Oh, I love how it's grilled at the bottom, man.
Get a load of this.
This is crazy.
I've never even seen anything like that in my younger years.
I'd be hesitant to even drink that.
Nowadays, I'm just to namu gaji.
OK, we are five hours in at our fifth spot.
The battery life is looking good.
And we're at Curry Up Now.
They serve a style of food you have probably never had before.
It is Indian food with a Mexican twist.
I got to try this out.
It sounds delicious.
Let's go.
We got our food, David.
What are we looking at?
We are looking at the sexy fries.
OK.
A tiki masala burrito and a deconstructed samosa.
Oh.
So they took the samosa, the inside, and whoop, they put it on the outside.
Honestly, when I first heard that Curry Up Now had a chicken tiki masala burrito,
immediately I was like, that's the first thing I want to try.
Three, two, one.
Cheers.
This is so good right now.
I mean, I would have eaten this out of a bowl, burrito, taco, anything.
Yo, I got to try these vegan fries.
So you have cauliflower, I believe sweet potato.
You got this cilantro chutney.
I got the deconstructed samosa.
Let me get a piece of that paneer cheese.
This is one of my favorite spots that we had so far.
Honestly, that was delicious.
I'm finishing it.
I don't care.
David, we got two more spots to go.
The clock is ticking.
Let's go.
OK.
Yo, David, the clock is ticking.
Pixel 2 battery is still good.
But we are outside of what is said to be, by some, the best taqueria in America.
Waste no more time.
Let's go.
Yo, Andrew, we are on a super time crunch here.
We are at La Taqueria, which according to my Spanish skills means the taco place.
Yo, right here I have the crispy taco.
David, what do you have?
I have a crispy burrito.
Say no more.
Wow, that's spicy.
Usually the green sauce is not known to be that fuego.
You want to split it open?
David, when was the last time you saw a burrito that was like fried on all sides?
Wow.
Crispy burrito.
Oh, my mouth is on fire right now.
I've had a lot of crispy burritos in my life.
But this one here at La Taqueria, something special.
Yo, and I'm saying this carnita is one of the best carnitas I've had, really.
Yo, I'm loving the vibes here at La Taqueria.
It's so chill.
I could sit here and eat the chips and pico de gallo all day.
Yo, but David, we got to keep going.
Let's roll, man.
Let's roll.
Yo, we have made it to our last and final seventh spot in seven hours.
The Pixel 2 battery is still going strong.
We are here at Smitten in Hayes Valley,
and we are about to get ourselves some made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream.
Let's go.
Dessert.
I got something that I've never had before.
This is called creme fraiche.
This has caramel pear inside of it.
I got something a little bit more conventional.
I got chocolate chip cookie dough, but I got the crispies on top.
We just went on an epic food tour.
Seven spots in seven hours, all around San Francisco.
I cannot think of a better thing and a better neighborhood to end on
than Smitten in Hayes Valley.
This is really delicious.
Yo, I got to take a pic.
All right, David, we ate a lot of food, and honestly, all of it was delicious.
But the stuff that stands out to me, definitely the chicken and rice was delicious.
The chicken was juicy, tender, rice was flavorful.
And then the other thing was actually the loco moco.
Neither of these are fancy dishes, but to me, they just stood out.
They were so delicious.
The things that stand out to me about the epic food crawl in SF today
are the things that I've never had before.
First off, I started off the day with stir-fried pho.
I had no idea stir-fried pho even existed.
And the second thing that really stood out to me was the tiki masala burrito.
That was crazy good.
I loved how it was like authentic flavors, but just wrapped up in a new way.
Absolutely.
Pun intended.
Thank you guys so much for watching that epic food crawl here in SF.
And huge shout out to Google for making it happen.
This Pixel 2 is an amazing phone.
From the 15 minute rapid charge to the out of this world,
unbelievable best I've ever seen camera.
This Pixel 2 is dope.
So be sure to check out the Google Pixel 2
and also check out these other creators videos right here.
Until next time, we out.
Peace.
My IG world, watch out.
I'm here.
I have a Pixel 2.
David is coming back with a vengeance with the Pixel 2.
He's coming back with the photos.
His photo game will be crazy.
