Zach Gallin on the bump, and Manny up with two outs in the first.
That's a fastball way away, and Manny doesn't leave the box.
He stays in.
Woman behind him washing her hands, cleaning up.
Everybody just getting settled in the sun for the first inning.
Five seconds on the clock.
Another fastball away.
So Gallin's got to change it up.
Manny stepping in.
We're at five seconds, four seconds, three seconds.
The 2-0 pitch is fastball.
Manny doesn't like the call, but that's a nice pitch.
He had it right where he wanted it.
Two and one now.
Get back in the count.
Three fastballs in a row.
You got to mix it up.
Let's see what he does.
Nope. Fastball again.
Missed his spot like the first.
So now he's 3-1.
Manny's excited.
This is a fastball count, but you've thrown four fastballs in a row.
Manny's ready.
The pitch clocks at one. Curveball.
That's a really nice breaker
in a fastball count that plays off the fastball really well.
Look at that.
And Manny was swinging big after that pitch.
Manny doesn't step out.
He stays in the box.
The timer's going.
The catcher's giving the sign.
The pitcher's ready.
The pitcher is ready.
The umpire is ready.
11 seconds.
And Manny, you can see he's got no intention
of not calling timeout and getting set.
Now, this is just a misunderstanding of the rules.
The rule states that he has to be set and ready to hit
prior to the eight second mark by eight seconds.
Manny thinks that he can call timeout during the eight second mark.
So he's just standing there and he does get one timeout prior.
And you can see him just chilling, looking at the clock.
Eight seconds.
So now he's late, but he thinks he has until it hits seven.
So he calls times like he's watching the clock at eight seconds.
The umpire has a bracelet that buzzes as soon as it clicks to eight.
So he feels it buzz right here, looks up and starts his motion to say,
No, you weren't ready.
Move the game along.
You had no intention.
You had 20 seconds to call timeout when you clearly wanted to.
Manny doesn't like it.
He says, What? I had it.
And Ron's like, No, you didn't.
Come on, dude.
Stop ******* up, Ron.
Ron's like, What are you talking about?
That's just the rule.
Come on, bro.
You have to do that.
I had it, bro.
I was still at eight.
I called time.
You stopped looking.
I don't know why you're pissed.
That's just the rule.
I called it.
He goes, God, you're a ******* douchebag.
That's why I'm pissed.
It's like you're out of here.
Manager comes up and the umpire is just like, He just called me a douchebag.
What do you want me to do?
And he's like, Come on.
He's like, He just called me a ****.
It's got to go.
It's pretty frustrating.
You know, it's pretty frustrating.
We're all frustrated.
He's like, I don't know, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob.
Come on.
You can't do that.
He's like, Why?
Why is he can't do that, Manny?
I was like, You called me a ******* douchebag.
Come on.
Of course I had to eject you.
And that's the story of when Manny thought he knew the pitch clock rule
didn't called the umpire douchebag.
And that's the story of when Manny thought he knew the pitch clock rule
