What Chinese Kids Do With Their Red Pocket Money

When you were a kid, what did you do with the red pocket money you got for Chinese New Year? For kids in China, they're saving it up for something you as a kid wouldn't think of. In this primary school in Nanjing, the first lesson these 5th graders got was financial management of their red pocket money. Apparently this little boy's mother always told him that in the future he won't get much retirement pension and may have a difficult time. So this boy decided to save up now for a house and his future wife. But this little girl isn't buying a house for herself. Now we go to the other extreme. This little girl spent 100,000 yuan of her saved up red pocket money and bought this giant remote control car for her idol Luo Zixiang to show her love. First of all, how on earth did this little girl get 100,000 yuan, which is like 16,000 US dollars in red pocket money? I don't think I've ever gotten 16,000 dollars. Can I be part of your family? All kidding aside, this is pretty damn crazy. On the one hand, we have kids who worry about not having a house to live in when they're old. And on the other hand, kids who spend a fortune on celebrity crushes that they've never ever met. What happened to their childhoods? Anyways, tell us what you think in the comment section below.
