I had an opportunity here to go to the Georgia Aquarium and do a behind the scenes (they call it, behind the seas) tour. As someone that has always been heavily into the aquarium hobby and ichthyology I have wanted to do this since the construction of the Georgia Aquarium was announced back in the early 2000's.
The live Jellyfish tanks were soothing while the giant reef aquarium was mesmerizing. The best part was getting to observe the Whale Sharks and Manta Rays from above while they were being fed.
I thought the tour guide this was the second largest aquarium in the world, but I think she said it was the only the second aquarium to house Whale Sharks, because according to the google, the Ocean Voyager at the Georgia Aquarium is the largest in the world.
