Ludwik Maader (c.1760 - c.1805)
Polish conductor and composer. Almost his whole life is unknown. In 1777 he worked, probably as a chapel master, in the Abbey of Jasna Góra, Czestochowa, where he probably remained until 1783. It is thought that between 1782 and 1784 he was musical director in touch with Marcin Dejczer, Michael Orlowski and Józef Daubeck. In Czestochowa he was part of his orchestra between 1784 and 1794 and there he actively promoted the music of Polish contemporaries such as Jan Engel but also by authors such as Haydn, Anfossi and Piccini. It is believed that in 1794, as a result of the Jasna Gora economic hardships, Maader left to an unknown direction. #ClassicalMusic
