Max Keller
(Trostberg, 7 October 1770 - Altötting, 16 Desember 1855)
German composer and organist. From 1780 he entered the Benedictine monastery of Seeon, where he also received scientific and musical education. There he also achieved, in 1788, the position of organist. In these times he also studied with Michael Haydn in Salzburg. In 1799 he moved to Burghausen where he worked as organist until 1801, when he settled permanently in Altötting, where he remained for the rest of his life. As a composer, he wrote essentially religious music in a style close to that of his master Haydn. Max Keller died in Altötting in December 1855. #ClassicalMusic
