Francisco de Mello Rodrigues (fl. 1786 - 1844)

Brazilian composer. Almost nothing is known about his life. He served as a musician in Vila Rica from 1786 to 1792. From 1793 to 1800 and 1806-1811 his name was mentioned in a local brotherhood in the same city, where he probably worked as a composer. From 1830 to 1844 he seemed to be living in Rio de Janeiro, city where he probably died. His extant works are exclusively sacred. #ClassicalMusic
