Deer Rescue

One of the animals we rescued this past spring was a fawn call Denny who was brought into us by someone on the area that found her near her mother that was struck by a vehicle. We figure that she was mabe a week old when when came to us. For the first few days, young deer will be left alone and the mother will return in the evening and morning for feeding until the fawn was strong enough to follow mom. Denny was likely in the area following her mother when she was hit and remained there until she was found. It is very important that if you find young deer alone, not to disturb them but to monitor the area over 24 hours as it is likely that the mother will return.
