THOR (2011) | Lifting Thor's Hammer (Scene)
Mjolnir is Thor's special weapon, a magical hammer, a symbol of Thor's power. The hammer gives the wielder power to summon the elements of wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. With this hammer, Thor can create lightning storms and tornadoes and control the elements with the power of a sort of galactic nuclear explosion. In order to lift this magic hammer, Thor must be first worthy of it. As Odin says when casting Thor with the hammer to Earth: "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he is worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."
In this video, a group of people on Earth is trying to lift Mjolnir out of the stone. The whole idea of an event being made around this is nice, charming, and comedic. A community is coming together, starting a BBQ, and drinking, all around lifting a hammer. This is definitely Marvel's version of the scene from the old Disney movie - The Sword in the Stone.
We also can see Stan Lee - the father of Marvel, appears in this scene as a came. Lee tries to pull Mjolnir out of the ground with a chain, but he tears the bed off his pickup truck instead.
Thor is a 2011 American superhero film adapted from the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The main character, Thor, is a brave and powerful but arrogant warrior of the kingdom of Asgard. Thor's thoughtless actions caused a war that lasted many years. So, his father, the god Odin, the king of the gods, cast him out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders. Directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Clark Gregg, etc.
