New Plants & Garden Chat

In today’s vlog I’m talking about some new plants I have picked up and playing around with my new camera. While at the garden center I grabbed a couple of adorable tiny spruce plants. The ‘Tiny Tower’ Dwarf Alberta Spruce from Monrovia, are seemingly perfect for some planters I will be doing for my fall through winter garden. I also got a got a couple of Crocosmia ‘lucifer’ plants that I think are done blooming for the year, but they will look spectacular next summer! For awhile I toyed around with some planter ideas with an Aster and some Artemesia but I decided I will put that together off camera more than likely. Not really enough plants to really call this a plant haul or a shopping video, but still nice to see some fresh foliage. While out at a local nursery I stumbled upon some nice looking tropical plants and houseplants. One thing that did me in was seeing a small Kentia palm tree on clearance that I have had my eyes on for nearly a year. I think there are multiple vlogs at this nursery where I stop and talk about this plant. I had to get it! The price on this Kentia palm was fantastic! Unfortunately, you get what you pay for sometimes. More on that in next weeks vlog. In my excitement at the nursery I did not inspect the plant as well as I normally would, and I missed some small details. Oh well! Least I got one of my favorite, all time classic houseplants! One of the best, if not the best palm tree to grow indoors as a houseplant.
