Wild Raccoon Animal Rescue
On Sunday we recieved a call that there was a baby raccoon that was stuck in a hole on a cabin and that she didn't appear to be able to stand on her own. The family that found her did not see any sign of a parent in the area and was concerned for her well being so they brought her in. It is illegal to keep raccoons here in Canada unless you have a permit so we took her into Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre so she could get the care she needs. When we got back I checked on the bird nests around the farm to see if the young had fledged. We don't advise that you remove young animals from their location unless the animal appears to be injured or are sure the animal has been abandoned. If the animal does not appear to be injured, watch the area over the next 24 to 36 hours for signs of its mother.
