I'm about to swim with some sharks.
It's 7 a.m and I'm on the island of Maa Fushi in the Maldives.
And I'm about to go for a big day in the ocean.
My name is Babla with me Maa. They will be feeding the stingrays.
Okay so for the first stop today we're in this local island called Hulidu
where people are feeding stingrays and there's a lot of stingrays in the water.
There's a lot of people here that are touching the stingrays.
I don't know how I feel about that. I don't know if you're supposed to do that.
So for our next stop today we're going to this nearby spot to see nurse sharks
and snorkel with them and I'm freaking terrified of this.
Like I couldn't sleep last night because I was so scared.
So I might not actually do it but we're gonna go right there and maybe I'll give it a shot.
By the way nurse sharks are not dangerous but they do have teeth
and they can bite and they have given a friend of a friend of mine stitches recently.
I'm pretty scared.
Okay so I'm on the back of the boat
and you can see this guy like sort of feeding the sharks
and that big pool of sharks right there is where I was just for like five minutes swimming in the
middle of them and I was terrified. I was trying my best to like look at the camera that this guy had
and not at the fish but these sharks really don't really don't care about me.
Like at one point I think there were like two or three of them touching my legs
and I was terrified but they were just trying to swim by and I was just you know
trying my best not to be in their way but this is insane.
This is the craziest thing I've done a long time.
So now we're about to go snorkeling at a shipwreck.
So we've come to a deserted sandbank in the middle of the Indian ocean.
I hope you can hear me and we're gonna have lunch here.
And maybe it's not super deserted because there's like that thing over there where people are posing
for pictures and this is gorgeous. There's like white sand and turquoise waters. It's pretty cool.
This wind is wild. Ow! The sand hurts my legs.
It is starting to rain. Now it's time to go back.
The contrast is really interesting. This Russian couple is
dancing in the water in the rain and making videos and I'm like under an umbrella
trying to not get my camera wet. And I'm not flying the drone by the way
because I don't know if I can recover it. Oh ---- look at this.
So that's why I am not flying the drone. It's raining way too hard so I'm gonna eat in the boat.
Stopped raining again so we're back to plan A. Eating on the island.
Yesterday it was a lot of fun. That lunch was great. The chicken tasted a lot
like this item I used to get in Panda Express if you've been there. And then when we came back
I was just so tired and it was just so rainy I didn't feel like shooting an outro. So I'm doing
this now. That was such a cool experience you know like I was so scared about the nursing sharks
thing. I was even more scared than I was of like the actual Galapagos and like tiger sharks in that
video I did in Hawaii two years ago. Because at least then I was staying like 20 meters away or
10 meters away and I was with people who were like professionals. This time I was just with
some tour agency who probably knew what they're doing but like still probably didn't have the same
expertise like researchers that were taking me into the ocean in Hawaii. So I was pretty scared.
I couldn't sleep much but I got it done and that was so much fun. Like when that shark rubbed up
against my back I swear my face must have been like I seen a ghost or something. I'm glad you
can see it with a snorkel. So if you like this video don't forget to like the video. If you want
