Thor: The Dark World is a 2013 American superhero film adapted from the Marvel Comics character of the same name - Thor. It is the sequel to Thor (2011) and the eighth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, directed by Alan Taylor, and screenplayed by Christopher Yost and the writing team. It stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor alongside Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, and Anthony Hopkins.
Thor and Loki (Hiddleston) teamed up in the film to save the Nine Realms from the Dark Elves.
