Rep. McEntire asks where is the equity in HB 1399, establishing Native American scholarship program?

During a public hearing in the Postsecondary Education and Workforce Committee on House Bill 1399, legislation that would establish a Native American scholarship program, Rep. Joel McEntire tried to add the Chinook Nation to the qualifying group of tribes eligible for the scholarships. Unfortunately, the amendment was defeated. He questions the "equity" in the legislation at a time when equity is at the forefront of many pieces of legislation.
