Plant Pest Prevention || Variegated Birds Nest Fern || Mule Palm Update
Busy few days with the plants! Everything sort of blended together like it was all one day, but I filmed over a few days. I went out to Lowes for some plumbing supplies and looked at the houseplants at lowes home improvement. When returning home I finally got started cleaning out my garden window and putting away holiday decor and remembered I need to pot my little fiddle ficus lyrata. The main focus of the week was to put out ant bait. Controlling ants is very important for plant pest control. Ants farm and protect honeydew producing, soft bodied pest like mealybugs. Once the ant baits where set up I talked about natural and safe insect sprays I have been trying and how to spray for mealybugs. I recently had a mini plant haul of just two variegated birds nest ferns which I am in love with! Right now they are my favorite plants in collection. I especially love that seem more common and obtainable than many rare plants. Once I finished showing off my new plants I talked about my Mule Palms and I overwinter them.
