SOUTH PACIFIC \\ LEE-WHO? LIFOU (& MARE TOO) // VLOG #20

It's Australia and I don't know we started way over on the other side of the globe. Oh we're going to do a video. Oh thank you. Can I dance in it? Absolutely. You can certainly. Go for it you're on. Good morning and welcome to Lefou in New Caledonia. As you can tell from the sign behind us maybe it's a French territory. French territory, French commonwealth. Anyways tiny little island. We've already seen sea turtles just on the trip over and so we're gonna go do some snorkeling and some exploring. That's it. And we're going to watch this man dance. We're walking up to this church up at the top of a hill so I'll be out of breath shortly. That tree over there right on the top of that is where the church is. This is more my style than any place we've been yet. It's small, it's hot, it's wet, beautiful water and there's lots of wildlife which is nice. Kate's getting pictures of butterflies. Look at this gorgeous little cathedral up here. Absolutely beautiful here. Back down the hill we go. Not sure what this church is called but it is cool. This island is just stocked with tons of different types of plants and animals. It looks almost like a park the whole thing. Yeah. Starting to pour down rain. Who cares we're already wet. It is raining outside and we all found this cute little place. Yeah. Hey Kate had the same idea I did. Hey. So uh I know we talked to you again about it raining and us already being wet but this cool little hut here is providing a nice shelter from the rain so we'll get a little less This is Lipu's premier Airbnb. That's Papi Lapu. We now know that it's Lipu, local corrected us told us it is Lipu not Lapu. Coconuts. It's very tropical. People are really sweet. It's my favorite island that we've been to so far on this trip. I got to find a seahorse. And we're almost to Mare. Here we are on beautiful Mare in New Caledonia another gorgeous South Pacific island. We'd call this a cenote in the Yucatan. That right there is the flag for New Caledonia. A puma. For our geology lesson for the day these islands are all made of coral unlike a lot of the volcanic islands on the other side the tectonic plate the what the North American tectonic plate is going under the Eurasian plate here and so these were pushed up and so these islands are all coral atolls that were raised up so all this is coral instead of lava. This is everything that we have won while we have been on our Royal Caribbean cruise. Unfortunately we are unable to get pretty much all of this into our little tiny suitcase so we are only taking the water bottles the watches and the stuff sack. The rest we're going to give away to all of our friends on the cruise.
