Vicente (Vicent, Visente) Rodríguez Monllor
(Ontinyent, 1690 - Valencia, 16 December 1760)

Spanish organist and composer. Nothing is known about his early years. On 1 June 1731 and after the death of Joan Baptista Cabanilles, he was appointed interim organist of the Valencia Cathedral. He assumed officially the post on 1 April 1715 a post he held until his death. His brother Félix Jorge Rodríguez was the second organist and harpist there from 1703 until his death in 1748. As a composer, he published "Libro de tocatas para Címbalo repartidas por todos los puntos de un diapason" (1740). The manuscript comprising thirty toccatas for harpischord, which are in fact sonatas the most of them in the binary form as like as the ones by Antoni Soler and Domenico Scarlatti. He also composed three toccatas for organ, with multiple movement in the form of a fanfare (of battle), and sacred music (among them masses, vespers and motets). #ClassicalMusic
