Who doesn't like breaking boards? If there is anything that is symbolic of the martial arts and feats of strength, it's shoving your first through a stack of wood or concrete. It's impressive, it takes focus and commitment, and it is just plain fun!

But is it practical? From a self defense standpoint, perhaps not, however it's more about focus and properly executing a strike. Also, it is not environmentally or cost friendly. It's a waste of good wood and if you have a school that invests in it repeatedly, costs could go up.

That's why rebreakable boards can be such a great training tool. They give you the same resistance and focus that using real wood does, but without the mess, waste and accumulative cost.
