I made a wooden portrait VLOG 03

I'm not going to read you the card, but I'm going to show you the most incredible gift. Oh my gosh, Lindsay. Hold on please. It's my girl Rachel Metz's birthday on Tuesday. Hey guys, welcome. For those of you who don't know who I am, my name is Rachel Metz. I'm a DIY YouTuber here, the creator of the One Woman Show. She is a killer One Woman Show. She's also got the cutest little dog, Callie. I want to do something fun for her birthday that shows my appreciation for both of them. Here we go. I'm going to show you how. I went to Instagram and scrolled through Callie's feed to find the right photo that I wanted to work with. It was really hard to pick just one photo because there are so many cute photos of her. After finding the right one, I brought it into Photoshop where I changed the photo into a black and white image. Then I put it into Illustrator where I outlined the shades to give myself shapes to work with. I went ahead and printed it out. From there, I took it over to my built-in light box, aka my window, and traced on the back side with a pencil to give myself a carbon outline. Then I went ahead and traced it one more time on the front side onto my wooden panel to give myself that carbon outline to work with. After that, I found my wood veneers that I was going to work with to paint in Callie's face and cut all that into small strips. And then cut the small strips into small squares. All those small squares I mosaiced back together to create a mosaic face of Callie Bell Rodriguez. I'm a simple man, don't wanna complicate ya, complicate ya Are you joking? Lindsay, are you joking right now? Are you joking? For those of my friends who are not like wood savvy, these are all individual f***ing pieces of wood, excuse my language, but this is out of absolute control to piece this together.
