We made it to Satun Thailand by ferry then hopped a Song Theow and a van to get to Hat Yai where we found an awesome hotel, the Aloha Hat Yai for US$30 a night that was easily worth US$100+ per night. Good thing too as Kate is still very sick so we got her tucked in and I went to retrieve our tickets to Bangkok at the Hat Yai Train Station. We used 12Go.Asia to book our tickets again because they have worked so well for us in the past and this time was also successful. We walk through where to pick up your tickets if you have them delivered to Hat Yai (which we did this time and it worked great). We catch the sleeper train to Bangkok. This time we booked the new train and it was definitely worth the price difference of a couple dollars. Very nice new train with much more storage than the older sleeper trains. Once in Bangkok we find we again lucked out by getting an awesome hotel and again get Kate tucked in. We fast forward a week as all I did was go on food, water and medicine searches all over Bangkok while we tried to get Kate well. The Kings birthday celebration was pretty cool to behold and I found some of the best Phad Thai we've yet sampled in the Silom area. My parents are due in for a visit so see you next week!

We are in Saturn and heading to Hat Yai.
Just got to Hat Yai. First step was to get Kate tucked into bed. She's still not feeling good.
Now I got to go to the train station and pick up our tickets to Bangkok. Successful.
We got our tickets from 12go.asia again because they've worked for us in the past.
When you pick up your tickets at Hat Yai you have to get them at the parcel office
which is not marked in English. So come in the main entrance take a right.
That is the parcel office. You just go in there and pick up your tickets.
For our time in Hat Yai we splurged a little bit. We're staying in the Aloha Hat Yai.
It's 30 bucks a night. Any place in the states you'd pay well over 100 bucks for this room.
Really nice place and it's a block from the train station so bonus.
It's like no matter what I do I always wind up. This is the train we're taking from Hat Yai.
Nice new ones. It shows you the train, the car, and the station right on the outside.
How you feeling? Better. How you feeling for real? I still feel terrible but I feel better.
You're beautiful. I thank you. We were kidding when we said we got the nice new train.
It's awesome. It was like $50 more I think. It's brand new. There's even a shower
and there'll be an engine right there. What did you think of Langkawi and Hat Yai?
The bed in Hat Yai was so much better than the bed in Langkawi.
Kate's still on the mend so she's back in the room. She's been laying low and trying to get well.
I'm out on the search for some food. Bangkok is still our unadulterated king of street food.
Thankfully no matter what's going on outside you can always find some
great food out on the streets. Let's see what we can get.
On this little pad thai stand wandering around last night
it was fantastic and only 50 baht for a great plate of pad thai.
Leave the thumbs up and subscribe. No doubt it was good.
