Leicester's Neglected Roman Ruins
This time around, David Miano and Mariza Lockhart venture into the East Midlands and then north into Yorkshire and Durham. Highlights of their journey include a search for the remains of a Roman villa in Piddington, a walk through the ruins of a Roman bath in Leicester, a visit to the Yorkshire Museum in York, an exploration of the remnants of a Roman town (Isurium Brigantium) in Aldborough, and finally, to round out this leg of their road trip, a visit to the Oriental Museum in Durham. Professor Miano adds color to this trek by teaching about Cartismandua, queen of the Brigantes, and the Roman emperor Septimius Severus.
