Why is a Dogs Nose Wet
In this video, I’ll answer the question, “why is a dog’s nose wet?” There isn’t anything quite like being awakened by your dog’s cold, wet nose in your ear, right? Maybe that’s just me. But dogs do have cold and wet noses. Here are three reasons why that is.
The nose of a dog can be wet for multiple reasons, mainly to help its sense of smell work optimally. There’s mucus that covers the nose that scent particles get stuck on, then the dog may lick its nose so that he can “taste” the scent. A dog’s nose can be wet or dry, depending on several factors. Any excess either way could be an indication of an underlying health issue.
