In this video, I’ll explore another one of the many famous crimes that changed laws – Megan Kanka and Megan’s Law. Enacted in 1994, Megan’s Law is arguably one of the most well-known statues in the United States. But many aren’t aware of the tragic story that led to its creation. So, what really happened?

On July 29, 1994, the parents of seven-year-old Megan Kanka were attempting to search for their daughter, who had gone missing while riding her bike outside her home in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. Unfortunately, their hopes of seeing little Megan alive were dashed the following day when her body was discovered callously dumped inside Mercer County Park.
