Big Sean is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who burst onto the scene in 2007 with his debut mixtape, “Finally Famous Vol.1 The Mixtape”. Ever since introducing himself to Kanye West and dropping some freestyles right there in front of him, Big Sean has been on a consistent rise to become one of the most popular and successful artists out there. Kanye West would go onto sign Sean Michael Leonard Anderson to his GOOD Music label in 2008. It might have taken a few years for the title of his mixtape to finally prove true, but by 2011, with the release of his debut studio album, also titled: “Finally Famous”, Big Sean would become just that. By 2013, his sophomore effort, “Hall of Fame” landed at number three on the Billboard 200 Chart. Not bad for a kid born in Santa Monica, California, and raised in Detroit, Michigan. But no matter where he’s living, Big Sean knows the importance of having a home-base to focus yourself and accomplish your goals. Recently, in 2017, he paid over $8 Million for a home in Mulholland Estates, California, and today I’m going to tell you all about it, including its former famous resident.
Big Sean is an American rapper, singer and songwriter who burst onto the scene in 2007
with his debut mixtape, finally famous, Volume 1 The Mixtape.
Ever since introducing himself to Kanye West and dropping some freestyles right there in
front of him, Big Sean has been on a consistent rise to become one of the most popular and
successful artists out there.
Kanye West would go on to sign Sean Michael Leonard Anderson to his G.O.O.D music label
in 2008.
It might have taken a few years for the title of his mixtape to finally prove true, but
by 2011 with the release of his debut studio album also titled Finally Famous, Big Sean
will become just that.
By 2013 his sophomore effort Hall of Fame landed at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Not bad for a kid born in Santa Monica California and raised in Detroit Michigan.
But no matter where he's living, Big Sean knows the importance of having a home base
to focus yourself and accomplish your goals.
Recently in 2017 he paid over 8 million dollars for a home in Mulholland Estates California
and today I'm going to tell you all about it including its former famous resident.
Much of Big Sean's success stems from his collaborations with some of music's biggest
artists like Kanye, Pusha T, Rick Ross who is Khalifa and more.
His third album Dark Sky Paradise debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and would
go on to become certified platinum.
But in addition to his musical success, Big Sean also makes money through endorsement
deals with companies like Adidas.
With multiple streams of income, Big Sean's net worth is unsurprisingly quite high, though
just how high seems to be a bit of a question mark.
Most online resources peg his net worth at 15 million, but I've also seen some sites
reach as high as 26 million and as low as 12 million.
So let's just split the difference and say that his actual worth is probably somewhere
in the middle, right around that 15 million dollars.
Just enough to buy himself one hell of a nice house.
Hey guys and girls, it's Kara back at it with a brand new house tour, this one taking
a look at the jaw dropping mansion of Big Sean.
With his newest album Detroit 2 dropping at number 1 on the Billboard 200, I thought now
would be a great time to take his fans inside the home of this superstar.

Now let's get into this video.
In December 2017, Big Sean paid 8.7 million for an 11,000 square foot home located in
the exclusive gated community of Mulholland Estates in the hills above Sherman Oaks, California.
Directly across the street from the home DJ Khaled once bought from singer Robbie Williams.
The home was originally listed for 11 million by its previous occupant Guns N' Roses guitarist
Slash.
That's right, Big Sean bought himself a true rockstar pad.
Slash placed his 7 bedroom, 8 bathroom home on the market back in 2014 after his ex filed
for divorce.
In 2016 he slashed that price to around 9.5 million before finally selling it to Big Sean
for 8.7 million.
Records show that Slash aka Saul Hudson and his former wife Perla Hudson paid 7.3 million
for the home back in 2009, so in a sense Slash still got himself a tiny profit.
As long as you don't think too hard about a little thing called inflation.
In terms of features, this house has it all.
Where to start?
Well, since Big Sean makes music, how about with the elaborate recording studio installed
directly into the home.
The ornate estate also features a basement nightclub with an elevated DJ booth, custom
LED lighting, and a chrome stripper pole.
Wait a second, did I just stumble into a crossover episode with Paris Hilton's house?
If you're looking for more typical features, this home has those too.
Including a living room with a bar, a home theater that can seat a dozen people, and
3 pirate ship shaped chandeliers that float above the 2 story foyer entrance.
Yeah, you heard me right, I said pirate ship chandeliers.
Even the typical isn't typical in this place.
Here's Slash's ex talking about them.
This is the Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria.
I tapped into my Spanish heritage when I had this made.
There's no way Sean still has those, right?
Well just in case that wasn't luxurious enough for you, the home also includes a chef's
kitchen with double islands, a game room, and even a library.
The home is situated on a half acre lot and the exterior features an outdoor living room
with fireplace, pool, and spa, a BBQ pit, a volleyball court, and an organic vegetable
garden.
Now since a whole lot of those details were unearthed around the time that Big Sean purchased
his home from Slash, the odds are pretty good that Sean has updated the home to better reflect
who he is as a person instead of say a 50 plus year old rockstar.
In fact the odds are better than good, it's a bonafide fact.
Big Sean said
I bought this house from Slash from Guns N Roses.
The house is completely different now.
It's way brighter.
It was a crazier process than I thought it would be, but it got done.
It took 9 months.
Over the past year, Big Sean has found the time to not only renovate and update his home,
but practice self-reflection as well, finding peace in body and soul while meditating at
home or swimming laps in his pool.
He's transformed one of his garages into an at home gym.
And when he's not working out, he likes to spend time in his backyard herb garden
where he grows fresh mint and rosemary with regularity because of the energizing aromas
they give off.
In fact, Big Sean has officially zenned out his home since purchasing it.
For instance, the nightclub that Slash left over, Big Sean says he's only ever used
it once.
He said
The nightclub is one of those things you have to see in person, kind of like the Playboy
Grotto.
I've only ever had one party at my house ever.
In person?
Come on guys, you know I can do better than that.
Here take a look
I can't believe he's only ever had one party down there.
That's what I call self-control.
But now that he's over a decade into his career, Big Sean understands the necessity
for work-life balance and he's mastered his own unique approach.
For instance, he has his mom visit like all the time.
She even has her very own room in the house and nobody, absolutely nobody, is allowed
to touch it except her.
Speaking about his mom and his home, Big Sean had this to say
We like to eat.
We like chilling out a lot, watching movies.
She doesn't like to go out very much, truthfully I'm the same way.
I'm a homebody.
I'm lucky enough to have a very beautiful house and there's a lot to do.
A big movie theatre, a nice pool.
In terms of which room Big Sean likes to spend the most time in, I mean besides his studio
where he's always hard at work, well the answer might surprise you.
It's his kitchen.
It turns out that after taking an allergy test a couple years ago, Big Sean discovered
that he had been eating a lot of things that he was allergic to, including almonds, kale
and pineapples.
So he had to totally redo his diet.
Now he's all about that coconut milk and keeping his number one drink on deck, water.
Exciting I know, but what can I say, hydration is key.
I don't know about you guys, but it sounds to me like Big Sean has managed to find himself
a cheat code for life thanks to this beautiful home he lives in.
What's crazy is I was looking for a chef, you know what I'm saying?
I'm looking for the proper meal plan and within that process, my mama's been here
since October, so she's been cooking for me.
The best chef I could get, you feel me?
And it seems like life just keeps getting better and better for this superstar.
Alright, I think we'll bring this video to an end here.
What did you guys think about Big Sean's home?
Did you like it better the way Slash had it, or do you think it sounds like Big Sean has
made some necessary improvements?

see you guys in the next video.
