It's a short month. Eight days. It kind of just flew by for me. It's kind of cold. That's right. This is the coldest Feb I ever remember. Because we want to go back to school and this is the only way we can pull this off. Yeah you know like a lot of people have been asking about like tea and stuff but you know it's not something that everyone's interested in but I think that if you're Chinese you should know a little stuff about tea. You should know at least more than this guy. Sure. Because you know nothing about tea. I know nothing. I admit. I don't. I drink it and I'm like all right it tastes like tea. Yeah. And not water. Next comment. TheMDwithworth says the boys are looking very fit and svelte. Also I had a roast steak. Roast steak before Mike. You really need to try it before you. You made fun of the roast steak. I don't know. What was that again? I said we should we were talking about marinating meat in tea and I was saying I would want my steak marinated in roast tea. Oh heck no. Oh heck no. Whatever. She just says that that tasted awesome. No. You know I believe her. I believe her. There's certain flavors you would do with steak. Roast is not one of them. I stand by that. Stand by that. I don't know man. I keep an open mind about. Also I like. Sweet smelling. Okay. She called us svelte so I'm gonna take that to be a compliment. Yeah let's do. Thank you. Okay this is from our videos about Chinese parents. So what if you're vegan? I feel it's game over with traditional parents. Yeah I don't know. How do you think traditional Chinese or Asian parents will take to if you're like you are invited to dinner and you're like I'm vegan. I don't think they care. You don't think they care? Because honestly like a lot. I don't think they care. I think the first thing out of their mouth is what? You don't eat meat. Yeah. That's the first thing out of their mouth. They're like you don't eat meat? Yeah. I mean most Chinese parents would probably find it really weird because like I mean for a lot of different reasons right but I think modern like in today's time they're pretty accepting. Oh no man. She's talking about traditional Chinese parents. If you go in for a feast where most of the food is like duck, chicken, beef, pork, whatever. Maybe like two vegetable dishes. Right. And you only eat those vegetable dishes then they're gonna think you're weird. They're gonna think you're weird. They're gonna get mad at you because they're like how come you're like you're taking up all the time. Well also you'd have to have good manner so you can't just eat those. You can't eat all of the vegetables. And they're gonna put things on your plate so it's gonna come out. It's not like you can just do what you want. The parents are gonna be like here eat this. You're gonna run into very awkward moments. I cannot eat a pig feet. Like they're gonna be like this like mid mid on your plate. You're gonna be like oh I don't eat that. Julius Glavinskis says I can dance well. Is that pretty good enough? Nope. No it doesn't. They don't. Dancing doesn't help you. Here's what they don't care. Dance? Nah I don't care. Painting? Nah I don't really care. Music? Maybe but you gotta be like really good. They don't care. If you can rap? Sorry. No. Singing country? No. It's like classical music. They're not gonna like that. So I so I took my mother back to that restaurant again last night and uh I distinctly remember telling her I go oh Mike and I came here and I was like Mike uh Mike can't taste flip Mike doesn't think this this food is very flavorful and I was like he just smothers it in hot sauce and you know what she said? What? She goes then how can he taste the food? I go that's what I'm saying. All he tastes is hot oil. Anyway so I got a lot of hate. You definitely won the uh team arguments and uh even Felicia beat me like you were just like Felicia didn't even have a side he should beat me. It was just it was just crazy. Oh yeah she's a girl. Yeah she's a girl. She's cute so. Exactly. Yeah. You're gonna have to read this one. All right Candy Lee says ha ha ha Good job guys. So she says ha ha I heard the accent that I made about the Shaanxi accent. You know the the crazy Shanxi accent. Right. She said it was very authentic. Oh that's good. Very much good uh and she's also from Xi'an and she misses Xi'an. Well Xi'an is awesome because it does have the best food in the in the whole wide country. I am prejudiced or I am biased on that so yeah anyways uh Arianne Tri Sing Sing says am I the only one that thinks Felicia looks like Constance Wu from Fresh Off the Boat? There's a few comments about that. Do you think she looks like her? No no dude. Yo I think. All right you're the worst person to ask for this all right because you can't tell the difference. I can't tell the difference yeah. Major difference is Constance Wu has has a little bit of a wider more squarish face. Maybe it's because they have similar hair. Dude they look totally different. Okay here's the thing with me you can convince me either way because I don't know I'm like you're like yeah yeah it's they look I'm like all right they probably look the same. You know saying that she looks like Constance Wu is saying like I look like the father from Fresh Off the Boat. Like we don't look anything alike. Yeah okay they're both cute Asian girls. That's the only thing they have in common. Well Constance Wu I tweeted her. Oh no way. I tweeted Constance Wu because I'm like hey if you're ever in uh in New York come on I'll come on our show. Dude she's younger than you. She's younger than she's younger than both of us. She's like 26. Yeah she's young. So she only has 9,000 Twitter followers. Oh yeah. She didn't even get back to me. She's too busy making TV shows man. That's only 9,000. I was for sure she would see it. I'd be like yo then maybe maybe Constance Wu can I like you know we can have a some kind of a some kind of a dialogue and she can come. Don't you know though like she's in New York like YouTube and YouTube is different from like television. Can you guys please tweet Constance Wu for us at Mike X-I-N-G-C-H-E-N at D-A-N-O-E-G-W. All right here Kuro Niko Naya says speaking as a Taiwanese girl here I never thought of my Mandarin as particularly cutesy until my Chinese and Singaporean friends pointed it out. So it's definitely not a deliberate attempt but I but it definitely sounds gentler to my ears compared to say the Beijing accent. All right it's night and day. Yeah Beijing accent is like crazy very aggressive. Yeah yeah. You know it's almost has a stuck-up flavor to it. Yeah. Actually I told you guys I really find the Taiwanese girl accents very cute. I find it very adorable. It's all like oh my god she's like Yeah you don't want to be like can you please talk like a normal person. No I find it cute. I do. I find it adorable. You know what I don't like Beijing accent. I don't like Taiwanese accent. What do you like? I like Japanese accent. All right we're talking about speaking. Oh okay well when you're saying about a Chinese particular accent I just like the regular Chinese. I like my accent. The regular newscasting Chinese. You like your accent. No no that sounds white. No I sound like a like a newscasting Chinese. You don't sound like a newscaster. I have no accent when I speak Chinese. Did you just say to me you have no accent when you speak Chinese? Yo what? I don't sound like a northern. I don't sound like. Yeah because you sound like you grew up in the U.S. That's what you sound like. Of course you don't sound like northern or southern. You're out of your. Well anyways I don't have a north accent. Like I said. I don't have a Taiwanese accent. Because you sound like you grew up here. Okay I gotta I gotta work on my accent. All right so. Was that it? No no so uh fresh off the boat episode. Uh we got a lot of hate on this. No we don't have any comments we're gonna read? No because we're talking about. There's too many bad comments. You want me to pick out one? Yeah yeah you know what? Comments on all of those negative comments. Look this is what I told you right? People who find things negative they don't agree with. They're gonna they're gonna um they're gonna comment. Yeah we got a lot of hate on this one and uh I just want to say this. We people were like yo did you not do your research? Did you not read? Did you not know this this was the title of Eddie's memoirs? No we knew that. We knew that. We knew that but again it's not. We came at this from a perspective of. Right. Okay not everyone's gonna watch this show. Right. Who read his memoirs. Exactly. So most people actually who's gonna watch the show. I don't think like the ABC was like oh hey let's make a show and let's make it for everybody who's read his book. No. That's not what they're thinking. So we came to it from a totally. Of course not. Mutual perspective. Like we don't know what this is. We're watching this show. We're just rating the show. That's it. Right. Again I look I mean like I'm not bothered by the negative comments because people who uh you know there's gonna be a lot of people with blind. I call it blind Asian pride and it's not just for Asians. A lot of people who have you know blind pride about their own ethnicity. We have Asian pride but it's not blind. You know like as a show I don't care if it's Asian black white. This is what I liken it to. It's like hey you're you know like when I was growing up some people would be like you're a good looking dude dot dot dot for an Asian guy and I hate that because this show is the same thing. I'll be like this is a good show for an Asian show. Yeah. But it's like it's not a good show if it's a regular show. Right. So it's just not a good show. Not not a bad show. It's just not as good as the show. We we told you our honest perspective about the show. We just didn't find it as funny as that maybe it could have been. That's all. Like we don't hate this show. There's actually a lot of good things we said about the show and actually I have high hopes for it because it's only in its first season. You know you know like it even took for example like other shows that I like it took them a season or two to kind of gel. Look Friends first season wasn't as funny as it's like third or fourth. Friends evolved. If you watch that first season it wasn't even that good. It was weird. It was just weird. It was quirky. The characters haven't developed but you know it was popular but then it just kind of blew up you know. This is for our Cantonese food. So Astri Arrescajold says that's so much food boink. Every time I go to Chinese restaurants with my father I pick out at least five dishes I want us to order but the tragic man always cuts the number down to three and then we start arguing badly. I hate that too. Well she should well you should come out to eat with us because me and Mike the two of us will order like eight yeah at least like six to seven eight dishes. And I hate it when you're you're used to I used to hate this about you yeah because we'll go out and eat and I'd be like I want to order this this and you're like that's too much. That's too much food. I don't need that much food. Let's get let's get less food. Well you trained me because now I eat. Now you're good now every time we go out you're like let's get let's get it get it get it yeah get it. So I hate that too much. It's funny funny she calls him the tragic man. That is a tragedy. That is a tragedy. I mean the like me and my mom went out last night and we only ordered three dishes because she can't she's she's a tiny woman yeah but like we would have ordered like eight dishes yeah so all right so uh you guys saw Felicia oh yeah let's you know so she's gonna be uh working with us on our channel and she's gonna have her own channel we'll let you guys know about that as soon as that comes out definitely um you know it'd be sad if like she just all of a sudden got way more fans than we did and this is like probably will happen like come on guys come on cute asian girl couple dudes but there's two of us that's double the manliness or it's double the tragedy who knows it's actually double one and a half times because you can't i mean well you know what i think most of our fans are actually girls that's true they are they are so so thank you guys thank you guys don't don't abandon us for you know what wouldn't have worked we got a third guy that would have been like a total dude overload man yeah all right uh on to our february february fan of the month f-o-t-m sure photon fan of the month is alan yow alan yow so alan uh you know actually alan already has off graywell shirt but uh go to our store and pick out something else you like message us on facebook with what you would like and we'll send that over to you and sorry for the past winters uh we've been a little slow getting your shirts out because we went to vancouver we came back there's like snow so it's you know all on the way don't worry there's like black ice out there man it's cold we didn't want to go out you know i mean we don't want to fall down and crack our face open i know thanks for watching later
