“The Princess and the Frog” here is a shortened version of the one which is a 2009 Walt Disney animated musical fantasy romantic comedy. The 49th Disney cartoon is based on the 2002 novel named “The Frog Princess” by E.D Baker. This novel is developed from the German folk tale “The Frog Prince” in the fairy tale collection by the Brothers Grimm.

That’s why the setting of the tale was in New Orleans which is an American City. And it also explains why there are modern factors such as Jazz and restaurants amongst the traditional fairy things such as prince, princess and magic.

The story tells us about Tatiana. She lives in New Orleans and dreams of opening her own restaurant. She has a close friend, called Charlotte. Though they are close, they are different. Charlotte always wishes to be a princess meanwhile Tatiana knows that dreaming is not enough, she needs to work hard to fulfill her dream. That’s why Tatina takes two jobs in order to save enough money to open her own restaurant.

One day, Charlotte and her father Big Daddy visits Tatiana and informs her excitedly that Naveen, prince of Maldonia will visit New Orleans. And Big Daddy invites the prince to his masquerade ball. An evil man Dr. Facilier turns prince Naveen into a frog and makes Lawrence- the prince’s maid look like the prince. Because he wants Lawrence to marry Charlotte for her money. Then he will steal it. In order to keep Lawrence look like the prince, the talisman will need more blood of Naveen. But Naveen as a frog has escaped. He meets Tatiana, and convinces her to kiss him which will make him come back to human. In return, he will help her open her own restaurant. Tatian kisses the frog after some reluctance. However, she also becomes a frog because she is not a princess. Only the kiss of a princess can release Naveen from the spell.

So, Tatiana and Naveen in the form of frogs work together, trying to find ways to become human again. They go through things together and develop feelings for eachother. With the help of Louse and Madam Odie, they defeat the evilman, Dr. Facilier. However, in order to make Naveen become human, they still need the kiss of a princess, and Charlotte agrees to help them because she is a princess. Although Tatiana does not want Charlotte to kiss Naveen because she loves him, for the sake of Naveen, she finally agrees. But the midnight time is over for the kiss. Naveen is still a frog. Then Tatinan and Naveen decide to marry each other despite the fact that they are still frogs. When they kiss each other, they become humans again. Because Naveen is the prince, so by marrying Tatiana, he makes her a princess. And the kiss from Tatiana who is now a princess, turns Naveen human again.
They come back to New Orlean, open the restaurant as Tiana always dreams of and live happily ever after.
