Moving Temperate Plants Outside | New Josh's Frogs Springtail Culture For Terrariums | Saturday Vlog
The arctic weather finally moved out and some pleasant, more mild weather moved in. I figured it was time to move the more temperate plants back out from the garage to get some fresh air and sunlight. Almost three weeks in the dark garage with sub-zero temps just outside nearly pushed the mule palms over the edge, but they'll be ok. It took several days but all the pots and plants outside are thawed out. I gave updates on how the outdoor containers managed through the cold. Surprisingly, the magnolias and aucubas all look totally fine. Later in the video I received some springtails that I had ordered from josh's frogs. I need these little arthropods to act as a clean-up crew for terrariums. The starter culture was light, not many critters in there. Not a big deal, in a couple of weeks, maybe up to five or six weeks there will be a plentiful bounty to spread around the terrariums and the moisture loving houseplants. If the culture was for a larger terrarium and not apothecary jars, then I would have just dumped in.
