Football Games Worth Watching Again - 2021/22 #7

One or two nice touches, good save. And then over the top front, Messi really struck Iliya Mbappe up against Dani. Carvajal, there he goes, penalty. No doubt in the mind of Daniele Orsato, and eventually Carvajal. It's Messi, and it's saved by Courtois. What a big moment in this Champions League last 16 tie. Courtois denies Messi. Great feed by Mbappe, oh what a goal! What a sensational goal! Well he might be at Galactico next season, but he's the toast of Paris tonight. Brilliant feet, what a finish. Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain 1. Messi tracking back, no foul. There's the shot, oh! Not far away at all. Carried Benzema. Nuno Mendes slipping in down this side, manages to keep the ball in play. Mbappe! 2-0! Neymar sweeps it on because they know that Mbappe's on the run, and Alaba's trying to make up ground. Kylian Mbappe for Paris Saint-Germain! He scored this time! Well he might be heading here for next season, but tonight he might be the man who knocks Real Madrid out of the Champions League. And Mbappe's in again, oh what a dummy! Oh what a goal! Offside. Oh my word, what a shame. What wonderful feet. Sir O'Donoghue, run out. Benzema caused it, here's Vinicius. It's Carried Benzema and we're back in it! He scores so many big goals at vital moments for Real Madrid and the captain strikes tonight. 77 in the... Look at Lovrich once more. Good ball into Carried Benzema and it's in! Carried Benzema strikes again, Real Madrid are back! Kylian Mbappe with more defending... Oh he's done it! And this football club that loves this competition, whether it be the European Cup or the Champions League, have done it again. Benzema with a 16-minute hat-trick in the second half. Mbappe thought he got PSG through. Helmas, very tidy. Testegen saves, but not the second one! Napoli go in front. Superbly finished off second time by Gilles. And he dispatches it to level it for Barcelona. Could that be take-off? Well, they'd like to think so, Barcelona. Aubameyang seeks to break out for Barcelona and he finds Traore. We know about how strong he can be on the ball and he's worked it beautifully. It's magnificently finished by Jordi Alba on his right foot, if you please. Barcelona strike first. What a run it was from Adam and Traore. And De Jong's got room. De Jong! It could not be any better for Barcelona. A first European goal for Frenk. Testegen. Or Simeone. Testegen gave the penalty away. Insigne vanishes it. Now the stadium comes to life. And surely Napoli will come to life. They're back in it. Lifeline. Jordi Alba. Pique's round the net! The number three with the third for Barcelona. With the step over. That should surely do it. And that's what they brought him to Barca. Pierre-Malik Aubameyang. An incredible strike this year. The present of it here, Barca. One back. So that needs redrawing. And Politano, who's been busy since he came on, is rewarded with what seems to be only one less blast on the whistle as Napoli bow out at this stage in Europe for the second year running and the sixth time overall. Robertson with the corner. Canarte! With the goal for Liverpool. Three header. And he said thank you very much. It could be very costly. Diaz is in behind here. And here's a chance for Mane. And it's 2-0. That was brilliant. Lost the ball in midfield and within about four touches Liverpool had that in the back of the net. There's the attempt to find Canarte. Missed it. Nunez. 2-1. Mistake by Canarte. And the Uruguayan strikes to put Benfica back in business. Luis Diaz is on to this. He's around the goalkeeper. And he scores. In Portugal. Luis Diaz back in the country where he starred for Porto. And scoring against their big rivals. Ball in and the header is into the back of the net from Canarte. He's done it again last week. A chance here for Benfica to go level. And that's exactly what they've done. Ramos left in space and a surprise equaliser for Benfica. Had no chance of getting there. Can Firmino finish this off? No, he doesn't need to do that. It's a brilliant interception in the end. The goalkeeper lets it get away from him. 2-0. And here's a chance for Firmino. And Liverpool is done. And of course he did it nicely. This might be quite tight. It was offside. It will be checked. When it comes out for the shooting chance off the bar. And the rebound is converted by Thiago Galardo. A bit more time than they had there. But Jeremy Costa now and it's back in. And it's a goal on debut. Fires it in. Saved by Rico. But the rebound is prodded home by Takekubo. Nice looking ball and it's an equaliser. It was Antonio Raio. It goes long and it might find Servi. Cuts it back. Aspas! Thiago Aspas with a... Finally the whistle blown and Selva Sevilla can step up and score. Goes down the middle. Di Turo tried to flash his leg up. Thiago Aspas against Sergio Rico. Oh, he scores but only just. Only just. Aspas his second of the game.
