Verrocchio: Sculptor and Painter of Renaissance Florence is the first-ever monographic exhibition in the U.S. on Andrea del Verrocchio (c. 1435–1488), the influential artist, sculptor, and teacher of Leonardo da Vinci, Pietro Perugino, and possibly Sandro Botticelli.

The exhibition showcases 50 masterpieces in painting, sculpture, and drawing, highlighting Verrocchio's innovative artistry and the interconnections between his works in different media. Groundbreaking technical research reveals insights into his materials and techniques, along with new attributions.

Curator Andrew Butterfield offers an overview of Verrocchio's legacy in this lecture, delivered on November 3, 2019. The exhibition is hosted exclusively at the National Gallery of Art.
