And then I'll go down to Bogey.
Because Bogey's very excited about it.
Such a cutie.
I want to be in the video, Mama!
Put me in the video!
And scratch my butt!
Never forget about the butt.
I'm feeling a bit hungover after the cape.
And what do you do when you feel hungover?
You drink mimosas.
Being hungover could mean that you're dehydrated.
Please don't drink more alcohol.
Drink water instead.
This has been a PSA from your friendly sewist.
No, but seriously.
After the cape and the corset,
I need an easy project.
Hopefully these combinations don't give me too much trouble.
Let's do this thing.
Well, this is bigger than I thought it would be.
I finally got pattern weights
so I don't have to use random things
like decks of cards
and sewing machine feet.
Look at how cute they are!
From what I can gather
from the instructions,
we are creating a small little pin tuck
along these lines here.
Once I sew this one down,
I'll fold this back
and then sew a pin tuck here
catching this edge to finish it.
I think that's what it's saying.
Let's try it and find out.
I stitched the line here
on the outside
and then I folded back the facing.
There you go.
And folded under
the raw edge
to catch
on this little tuck
that I made
for the second one.
Let's see, let me
zoom out.
Okay, there we go.
And then
I will sew here,
hopefully catching that facing
and
hopefully that's right.
I ended up sewing two lines of stitches
to make sure that I caught everything
and then I sewed another line of stitching over here
and now it's
decorative.
And then the left side is easy
just hemming it down
like a regular hem.
Super easy.
Now let's find buttons.
This past Christmas
I participated in the Reddit gift exchange
and I ended up
getting like a million and one
buttons.
So it's always fun going through
my button box because
I don't actually know what's in there.
Um, but I think
I'm gonna go with one of these
three.
I just haven't quite figured out
which one.
I love these teeny
tiny little buttons.
I just love everything that's tiny.
These are just like the smallest.
Ooh, I think they're so cute!
Can buttons
be cute?
Okay, front and back
are sewn together
at the shoulders
and at the side seams.
I also added
gathering stitches down
at the bottom. Um, I think
I'm going to, instead of
doing the gathering at the top,
I'm going to add
bias tape around there
and make a casing. Let's try it!
I slept on it
and decided I don't
like it. So I'm gonna
unpick this
front part here
and add in those gathering stitches
and do it the way it says to do it.
It'll look better.
Yeah, I like that much better.
I think it was wishful thinking on my part
thinking I needed adjustability
in the bust.
These babies aren't gonna grow.
This is
perfectly fine.
Darts are sewn up on the shorts.
I also sewed up the back seam.
Now it's time to deal with this little
box pleat. Gorgeous.
I sewed a narrow
hem on
all the openings
and now
it's time to sew these legs up
and I guess
sew it to the top and figure out
what looks pretty now.
Does this happen to anyone else?
No matter how careful I am with my lipstick
it somehow gets
everywhere. Luckily
it's on the inside so
nobody will see it
but
this is what I'm
thinking now.
I've got some
beading and edging lace
here that I think I'm gonna put
at the collar
and then the same edging lace
around the sleeve.
I can't decide if I want
this insertion lace
or if I just
want beading
at the waist.
I'm not sure. I'll save that
till last. And then I've got
oh it's terribly
pinned on but
I've got
this
hanging lace
thing that I have
gathered terribly.
I'll do a better job once I actually go to
sew it. And then
this
lace at the
top.
So I have a
full night ahead of
me of just
sewing on all this lace.
Okay I've got the
lace sewn on to one leg. Basically
what I did was I took
an 80 inch length of
lace and gathered
it down to 40 inches and then
sewed along the line
that was marked on the pattern
for the ruffle.
And then I cut
off the large
portion of this. I've left
about this much
that I will probably
end up hemming but I'm gonna put
the other lace on top
first.
So yeah. And you've worked hard
and you've sewn
on all the lace
and then you realize you ran out
of bobbin thread at the very beginning.
I got
the lace sewn on to the bottom and oh my
gosh it looks so good!
And
I've changed
I've changed what I wanted to do
I think I'm gonna do the insertion
lace at the waist.
We'll see. And then
at the
top
let me just move this closer
the top
I was thinking now
of maybe just doing
this
beading and then the
edging lace just at the
sleeves
I don't know. It'll probably change
tomorrow. I ended up
going with this insertion
lace. So what I
ended up doing was
sewing
the insertion lace down
unpicking the seam that I had
already done
in the waist
and now I'm just gonna trim this up
and you know
hem it so it's
nice and clean and finished on the inside
and that's
how you do insertion lace.
I got that all sewed down. I also
just ended
up adding just this edging
lace to the top
and to the sleeves. I thought it looked really
nice and simple.
No need to complicate things.
And then
added two hooks
and bars
at the waist
to hold it closed
and we're done.
These combinations were actually quite easy
to make. I think the hardest part was
figuring out which lace I wanted
to use where but
I think they turned out
perfect. I think
maybe they might be slightly long
in the legs but
I mean I'm wearing it over the corset
so it doesn't really matter.
Um
and yeah I
just I think they're beautiful.
I'm super excited about it.
And I'm excited to start more sewing
projects now that I'm done
with the
underwear I can actually make the
pretty things.
Unfortunately
I have to wait for my fabric
to come in and
it's snowing outside.
So who knows when that will happen.
What do you do when
you're super excited to sew
but you don't have anything to sew?
I guess
I could start on my mending pile
but that's no fun.
Now that I'm done
with all the undergarments I got a little curious.
I was wondering what some of my
Edwardian outfits that I had previously
made would look like
with the proper undergarments
because up until now I haven't had those.

I will be back in two weeks
with another video.
Who knows what?
Who knows when my fabric's coming in?
We'll see.
