Hi, it's Pat Patterson with the Best of Los Angeles. We're here at the Hollywood Forever
Cemetery. Oh my gosh, this is so exciting. I have Norma Moran, a family family service
counselor. I'm going to let her take off her mask. We're practicing safe segment.
So this is all a part of how we're doing things these days. And Norma, this is a historic
cemetery. Many people know it. We're going to kind of bring people up to date
and remind me just a few of the celebrities that are here. Wow. First of all, I want to welcome
you to Hollywood Forever. Thank you. Thank you for visiting our beautiful cemetery. I've been
many times and it's gorgeous. I'm so happy that you're here visiting and we're on showing people
how beautiful this place is. Great. We have a lot of old Hollywood here. A lot of history here.
Might not be too old to me. Way before my time, but Valentino's here. He's in our beautiful
cathedral mausoleum. We have Tyrone Powers here. We have a tribute to Hattie McDaniel,
which he's not here, but we have a beautiful tribute for her. Eleanor Powell. Wow. We have
just some of the greatest old Hollywood stars and some of the new Hollywood stars. And one of my
favorite you have is Mel Blanc. Mel Blanc. Whose tombstone says that's all folks. Because he was
voice of Bugs Bunny. I love that. Bugs Bunny's here. You know, people walk around. They take a
little self-guided tour. Yeah. We are people friendly. It's beautiful here. It is a beautiful
park. I mean, just, you know, just on the sense of the aesthetics of it. It is so pretty. And
you and I talked. There are new owners. Yes. And I had been here. I worked at KTTV back in the 70s
and 80s. And this place had fallen into decline. Yes. And so new owners, new owners, maintenance.
Yes. We have new fabulous owners that are, you know, young, they're vibrant. We're not just a
cemetery. We actually celebrate life here. Yeah. Here. Yeah. You know, a lot of things go on.
And so one of the things that I'm going to talk to some people in a second, some friends of mine,
is I think sometimes people think, oh, Hollywood forever. It's been around forever.
It's full. You're still selling. Yes. We're not here. You're not there. Not full. We are
developing space. You can come down and get real estate here right now. Yes, we are not full. We
have a lot of new beautiful buildings that we're building. We have another one that's in the works.
We're going to be breaking ground sometime next before next month. Hi, it's Pat Patterson with
Best Los Angeles here for a phase two of our great segment at Hollywood Forever. You just
heard from Norma Moran. And now I have two customers, Stan and Tara Freese have just
purchased their niche, right? Yes. Is it a niche or are you guys going to fit in there? No. Yeah,
it's good. You can go either way. Yes. So you can take off your mask if you want to. Yeah. If you
This is great, man. Why are you waiting so long? I know. Well, I'm liable to have to push it up a
little bit now. I mean, look at all this. Toto. We're going to show Toto. We got a lake. Yeah,
the lake. Beautiful. Johnnie Ramone down there. I'm going to show that. That's great. Chris
Cornell. Yeah. So what triggered this in all seriousness? What was the, I want to know the
conversation that led up to this? We first came here for a movie. And after the movie,
we started looking around going, wow, this is a really interesting place. It's better than any
other cemetery we've ever been to. Right. So beautiful. Yes. And we said this was some place
where people would actually want to come and visit. Most places, once you get planted,
nobody ever goes. But we said people would want to come here. They would love coming here. We
waved to everybody. Yeah. Isn't that sweet? And so you stand here 42 years at the Disney,
at Disneyland and hee haw and all your background and showbiz.
Was there an impetus to be among some of your peers? No. Really? But I just thought, you know
what? This would be just a really fun place to be. You don't think about dying and being
planted as being fun, but this is fun. Yeah. You know, this is crazy. This man is all about the
fun. Yeah. And his wife is the same way. I can testify to that. So anyhow, so here we are. So
which ones? Show us. There we go. This is going to be us. He's not in there yet. He's right there.
Nobody in there yet, right? Okay. No, we're good. What if I knocked back? And Tara right next? No,
I'm here. You're both in there. Well, I just, this is so beautiful. We're going to show you
around a little more about Hollywood forever. Stan and Tara Friese. Thank you. Happy customers
here at Hollywood forever. There's still plenty of room down here. That sounds funny to say about a
memorial park, but there you go. There's plenty of room down here. A lot of mausoleum space. Yeah.
So, so there's a big difference. Obviously some people get buried and some people are cremated.
So they might buy a niche. Yes. I mean, yeah. You want to be here. You want to be cremated.
We have these beautiful niches. Yeah. Um, if you want to be in the ground, we have beautiful
ground space. Columbarium is different. We have indoor, we have outdoor, and we have, you know,
a lot of beautiful spaces. That's great. For people to choose from. And it's just so pretty.
I mean, you, if you haven't been down here, come down and take a tour. They have a map at the
bookstore. You could walk around. I want to invite everyone to come down and just, you know, take a
look and take a tour. You can always call me or call any, call any one of my team,
teammate, team workers. I will be happy to give you a tour of our, of our beautiful cemetery.
Great. Well, Norma Moran here at Hollywood Forever. It's Pat Pattison with the best Los Angeles.
Talk to you soon.
