Angkor Wat: The Lost City Of The God Kings

In the forests of modern-day Cambodia, a civilization dating back a thousand years ago flourished. Their crowning achievement was the enormous temple known as Angkor Wat.
This documentary reveals more about the Angkor civilisation, which flourished in Cambodia between the ninth and fourteenth centuries.
The film, produced by Philip Day for Discovery's Lost Worlds series, interviews archeologists and historians from the United States, France, and England about recent discoveries and their significance for understanding the place of Angkor in world history.
We see how they have helped reconstruct a city around the size of present-day London, by far the largest city in the ancient world, using everything from the records of Chinese official Zhou Daguan to the most recent NASA images.
The film also includes CGI reconstructions of the city and reenactments of Empire life, including the Divine King, court, and religious ceremonies, as well as interviews with relevant authorities.
