Installing our Roam Adventure Co Vagabond XL Tent on our Overlanding 5.7L Hemi V8 Ram 1500 Rebel
You think we're done building ATLAS? Hehe. Yeah right. Consider subscribing to our channel if you want to see what we're going to do to the truck bed which will be featured in next week's video!
What makes a rig an "Overlanding" vehicle? Can you just throw a Trasharoo on it and call it a day? LOL
In our opinion, complete overlanding rigs have everything you need to cross continents on roads less traveled by. It has to be a fully equipped 4x4 with enough clearance to get you over and around obstacles, recovery gear to get you out of any situation and a sleeping component that gives you the ability to camp anywhere.
In today's video we installed a Vagabond XL Roof Top Tent, a Yakima Road Shower 4 and a couple of Rotopax on our Road Armor Trek Overlanding Rack.
Here's my honest review on each:
Roam Adventure Co - Vagabond XL - Roof Top Tents aren't for everyone. If you're a 3-4 times a year camper, this isn't for you. Snag a decent tent and you're good to go. If you live and die by the great outdoors of you're going on an extended trip, the benefits and costs of a RTT make more sense. The spaciousness of the tent and mattress pad make the camping experience 10X better than having to deal with inflatable mattresses night after night. The additional annex that comes with the Vagabond XL is super clutch, giving you additional privacy that is hard to come by if you're camping in a group. The quality of the product itself exceeded all expectations, especially for the price.
Yakima Road Shower 4 - Worth every friggen penny. Yakima makes a solid product and it's incredible how often you'll actually use it.
Rotopax - 6 gallons of fuel addition gives you another 90 miles of range which can for sure come in handy on extended trips. It's great to have the peace of mind in case you're pushing it to the limit offroading.
Road Armor Trek Rack - This thing is bulletproof. Crazy heavy duty and we feel like we could mount another 400lbs to this thing with ease (although our suspension begs to differ!). The biggest downside is the amount of nuts and bolts that it takes to make an adjustment to the height.
