Smart Lighting has come a long way over the last several years. This house walk-through with The Honest Carpenter and electrician Harrison Peacock will show and explain a few of the smart light advances that we commonly see in houses these days!
Smart Lighting is lighting hardware that utilizes an internet connection to provide homeowners with greater control over their home lighting, especially through phone apps.
Often, smart light fixtures and switches communicate through a bridge, or hub, that is connected to the router or internet in a home.
Homeowners with smart lighting can often program their light array to change colors, come on a pre-determined times of day, and even flip on an off randomly while the homeowner is traveling. It gives homeowners maximum control over the lighting ambiance in their homes.
PHILIPS is an industry leader for smart light fixtures and bulbs. Their HUE line offers amazing color-changing options in otherwise standardized bulbs.
LUTRON is a leader in smart light switches. Their CASETA line and PICO remote controllers are at the top of the market.
RunLessWire is a newer brand that has devised a light switch which does not need to be hardwired into the home electrical system, nor does it require batteries.
