Europe has never had such a long period of peace and prosperity as it did after World War II. When the Iron Curtain fell in 1989, the dream of a Europe united in peace and freedom appeared to have come true. However, the clouds of nationalism have begun to gather once more. Brexit, financial crises, waves of refugees have shaken Europe’s peace and prosperity.
