would.
So where does she live?
From a historic Victorian home she renovated, and her current $10 million dollar Brooklyn
townhome, we'll take a look at a few of Michelle's properties.
In these videos we don't reveal any addresses and even though I've done a house tour of
my own place, please do not show up at any private residences because it's not safe for

Michelle Williams is an actress best known for starring in films with dark or tragic
themes, many of which were independent productions, and she's also received many awards and nominations
for her roles.
Not to mention she rose to fame playing Jen Lindley on the popular series Dawson's Creek
from 1998 to 2003, whose character relocates from New York City to a small seaside town
at the start of the show.
It seems that things come full circle though, because Michelle actually moved to the Big
Apple after wrapping the final season of Dawson's Creek, excited to pursue her acting career,
and she liked the city enough to stay put.

Now let's get into this video.
Michelle moved to New York City after the hit show Dawson's Creek wrapped, and at the
time she was only in her early 20s and excited to work on her acting career.
In 2005, after meeting on the set of Brokeback Mountain, Michelle and the late Heath Ledger
purchased a $3.6 million dollar townhouse in the Boreham Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn,
New York.
It may have been a change of scene from the Canadian Rockies where they filmed Brokeback,
but the couple had no trouble settling in, and were often spotted around town with their
daughter Matilda.
Michelle clearly loves living in Brooklyn, and this 22 foot wide corner townhouse may
have been the start of her love affair.
Not only was the home stunning, it offered a 3 car garage, landscaped roof deck and more
modern amenities.
Inside, Michelle's former home spanned about 4,000 square feet of space with 6 bedrooms
and 4.5 bathrooms.
Atop the garage, there was also a landscaped rooftop deck.
The carefully renovated residence mixed original features with modern day amenities – think
central air throughout, heated wood floors in every room, custom wood windows, and custom
panel doors.
The ground floor entrance hall of the home led up to an open concept living space on
the parlor floor, which spanned about 1,000 square feet alone.
There were 12 foot ceilings and a fireplace in the living room area, while the nearby
kitchen had blue cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, a walk-in pantry, and a snack
bar.
The third floor boasted some of the beds and baths, while between two of the rooms there
was a cozy and to-die-for library with floor-to-ceiling lamplit bookshelf.
Michelle's former master suite took up the entire fourth level of the home, and encompassed
multiple rooms, including full-width sleeping quarters, a massive walk-in closet, a separate
office, and a vintage-style ensuite with black and white marble checkerboard floors.
There was also a clawfoot tub, separate shower, and a towel warming rack.
A media room on the ground floor opened to a small courtyard breezeway in the detached
garage, while French doors in the kitchen opened to a short bridge that allowed for
direct access to the rooftop terrace.
Other features included a wine cellar, high walls for privacy, and on the rooftop deck
there was a water feature and built-in seating.
Michelle remained here after her split from Ledger in 2007, but he would sadly pass away
a year later.
Six years after Ledger's death, Michelle finally sold their once-shared Boerum Hill
townhouse for $8.8 million.
At the time, it marked one of the priciest single-family homes ever sold in Brooklyn.
After the shock of Heath Ledger's death in 2008, Michelle moved to a farmhouse in
upstate New York to unwind away from the public eye.
However, after a few years upstate, the actress returned to her beloved Brooklyn, where she
rented a sprawling loft on Conover Street.
This Brooklyn gem was right up Michelle's alley.
The building was located right above the Red Hook Fairway, and it was a converted industrial
warehouse loft, where most units boasted exposed brick and wood beam.
Red Hook is a waterfront enclave offering gourmet restaurants and shops, as well as
perfect views of the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
The living spaces in this building were set against these panoramic views, and the 1850s
warehouse was transformed into residential lofts in 2006.
The units also offer 15-foot ceilings, refinished natural oak floors, and arched windows.
Michelle's former two-bed, two-bath unit covered a grand 3,000 square feet of space
with an expansive open layout.
There was a mix of a contemporary vibe as well as rustic charm, and the common areas
seamlessly blended together for a spacious feel.
The loft was equipped with a chef's kitchen boasting state-of-the-art appliances and plenty
of sunlight thanks to the corner exposure.
Other features included a separate home office, and a large master suite with attached bath
and private dressing room.
Not only was the loft itself gorgeous, residents had access to impressive amenities like a
doorman, a fitness centre, and a large landscaped rooftop deck.
Elsewhere on the third floor, there was a unique inner courtyard with outdoor garden
too.
In 2015, Michelle invested in a somewhat neglected historic Victorian mansion on Abemarle Road
in the Prospect Park South neighbourhood of Brooklyn for $2.5 million.
This area is one of the lesser-known ones bordering Prospect Park, and it's full of
suntry homes.
Michelle's property is dubbed the Terra of Prospect Park South, and stands out amongst
the other homes, taking up a large corner lot on a tree-lined street.
This stately colonial revival-style residence was designed in 1905, and while it was stunning,
Michelle still had her work cut out for her in terms of renovations.
From photos we can see interiors boasted many original details and had a total vintage charm
about it.
There were chandeliers, fireplaces, beautiful hardwood flooring, and more.
The exterior of Michelle's Victorian home was made of cedar shingles and clapboard,
painted shades of white, while outer details like porch railings seemed to be in great
condition.
The large house offered a beautiful covered front porch with grand columns, as well as
features like wide bay windows and a dramatic staircase.
Much of the home still needed repairs, so Michelle began on renovations in 2016, and
by 2018 exterior transformations were still underway, but in 2019, a lot of the work looked
to be complete.
The 18-room home was still gorgeous before the renovation team began, and by now, I'm
sure it's even more impressive.
At the start of 2020, Michelle and her current husband, theater and film director Tommy Kail,
purchased a 19th century townhouse in Brooklyn's historic Brooklyn Heights neighborhood for
a whopping $10.8 million.
Brooklyn Heights is a posh area full of elegant brownstone homes, and known for its tree-lined
According to the Wall Street Journal, the recorded sale price makes Michelle's home
one of the most expensive deals to ever happen in Brooklyn Heights.
Since the historic abode wasn't for sale on the open market, few details are known
about the home.
We do know that the sprawling residence spans about 3,000 square feet of space inside, and
the home dates back to the 1820s.
Records show that the sale also included a second, vacant parcel of land with a gated
driveway for off-street parking – a luxury amenity in Brooklyn, to say the least.
Ok, so that's all I got for Michelle Williams and her Brooklyn real estate empire.
Over the years, I think we can agree she's bought and sold some of the most beautiful
homes in the city, and has great taste.
Based on her former houses, we can only imagine that the interiors of her latest $10 million
townhome are equally, if not more, stunning.
Out of her properties we looked at, did you have a favorite?
I loved the Victorian one that she renovated, but all of them were impressive in their own
way.
