2022 Nissan Murano SV Review A worthwhile PURCHASE or wait for the REDESIGN?

So the Nissan Murano has been a staple of the Nissan lineup for a long time and I'm here with the 2022 Nissan Murano SV. We're gonna go through the ins and outs, show you what's new for 2022, take it up for a drive so you can make an educated buying decision. This one's gonna come with an MSRP of $40,698 here in Canada and the Murano hasn't been really changed in a handful of years. They redesigned the Nissan Murano in 2015 and it's kind of been this similar look. They've had a few cosmetic changes throughout the years but it's been this similar style. Definitely due for a redesign but this vehicle is still a sporty and athletic and modern type vehicle. You're gonna see when we jump inside it still holds up to this day and can compete with the new 2022 models. Let's take a look at the front end here. They did a really good job when they redesigned this and it's still sleek and stylish. It's gonna come with full LEDs all the way around from our LED Nissan signature headlights and our LED turning signals. We're gonna have this nice chrome v-motion grille. You can also get a midnight edition which Nissan is known for where they black out this grille. That's on the higher models which we're probably gonna showcase on this channel when they arrive but I really like the contrast here. The chrome grille then you have this chrome front bumper accent as well. This one being the middle package you're also gonna get a forward-facing camera right below our Nissan emblem. I wish they went with the new Nissan emblem here but you still have the old emblem so that's gonna be a beef for me. Still on the old emblem but let's come around to the side and this is where the styling that Nissan's gone with over the years has really taken over. You can see they went with this roof look. This was first introduced with the Murano and the Nissan Maxima and now it's pretty much been a staple of all the Nissans which you can see on my channel. With this SV you're gonna get rear tinted windows, you're gonna get these nice black roof rails, chrome handles and then these chrome side sills right on the door. On our mirrors you're gonna have that 360 camera which is right on the mirror. There's a camera on all four sides and then you'll have your LED turning signals as well. Checking out the rims. This one is sitting on these 18-inch aluminum alloy rims. It's kind of a two-tone rim. I like this rim. You can get different rims if you go up to the next package up the SL and then the Platinum has a little different rims but this is a nice two-tone split-spoke rim. It's a cold winter day here so sorry about all the ice on the back but you can see this one's gonna come in the all-wheel drive configuration. We have a chrome Murano badging. Backup camera is right on the back and this one's gonna come with our rear parking sensor. It's gonna come with our rear emergency braking as well when you're parking and then you also get the power liftgate with this SV model which is pretty neat. It's gonna open up to 908 liters of cargo capacity behind the back or 32 cubic feet. You can also drop the seats down with the levers there and then once you kind of fold the seats down it's gonna give you added cargo capacity and you're gonna get about 1897 liters or 67 cubic feet of cargo capacity so quite a bit of storage. If you remove the headrest you get kind of a flat surface area. Good for the Ikea thing or those Home Depot days. Open up under the hood. You can see the hood doesn't open very much. That's gonna be another beef on my end. It would be probably harder to work on because it doesn't open up very high but this one's gonna come with the 3.5 liter v6 engine. It's gonna come with Nissan CVT transmission giving you about 260 horsepower and 240 pounds-feet of torque. You'll get the all-wheel drive. Great for the wintertime. 1,500 pounds of towing and for fuel economy you're gonna get about 23 combined miles per gallon or 10.2 liters per 100 kilometers for all my Canadian friends. In terms of the key you're gonna get the Nissan Intelligent Key. Pretty much the same key you see on all the Nissans but perfect for a day like today. It comes with the remote start so you can start it up from a distance of about 400 meters Nissan says and there it goes starts up we're ready to jump inside and get into our warm car. So right away when you jump inside and check out the interior you notice the new edition for 2022 and that's this nice leatherette seating. Before this was a cloth seat now you get this nice leatherette seat right in the middle package so that's a nice feature. Full-clone leather in the Murano here and then you have this eight-way power adjustable seat. Let's jump in and start her up. Push-button start as well. Now I'm just gonna turn the heat down and you have quite a few nice significant features here for this middle package. Heated front seats, heated steering wheel, blind spot monitor as well, nice 8-inch touchscreen with the Nissan Kinect system. The interior of the Murano is very stylish and very sporty. They did a phenomenal job like I said before when they redesigned this car and it still holds up to this day and it's very modern looking and when you jump in it you know this is a nice luxury vehicle here. You can see it's got this beautiful leather wrapped wheel, nice leather on the dash here right above your gauges, all soft surfaces. You kind of got these leather accents right under the bag here and then there's these little chrome finishes kind of all throughout the dash which really makes it a nice high-end looking vehicle and the interior still holds up to this day I feel. The dash is a little angled, the infotainment system is a little angled so that you have an easier viewing angle which I like a lot and then here's the backup camera. It's gonna come on automatically when you put it in reverse and there's that around view monitor that I mentioned. So you have the bird's-eye view, you have the rear view, you can push your camera button and it's gonna show you your parallel and then there's a wide angle and if you're in Drive and you push your camera button you can also see the front so that around view monitor makes it very easy when parking and of course you got the sensors. Those leatherette seats continue throughout the back and your passengers will be pretty comfortable back here. I'm super impressed with the back seat, you'll notice how far this seat reclines here and there's just a little tether right on the side here and once you find it you can lower the seat that's about as far as it will go but you can kind of adjust this any way you like if you want to sit up straight and then you got a USB, a USB-C, you got ventilation back here, there's a little bit of storage for your phone, mat pockets and then you got a kind of cup holder down below and you can also drop the center armrest down for additional cup holders. So lots of room back here for a guy like me, your kids are gonna be very very comfortable in the back. When you're driving the Murano like it drives like a cloud, I can't stress that enough. When I have customers take this thing out on test drives and they've never driven it before and they come back they only have good things to say about the drive. It's a nice smooth ride, you don't feel a lot of bumps and it accelerates nice and smooth and it accelerates like this has quite a bit of power when you step on it there, like it is a nice smooth acceleration. You also get like quite a few high-end features, you have the intelligent cruise control. My only negative, my only beef is that you don't get the ProPILOT Assist. So I wish it had the ProPILOT Assist but it's a hydraulic steering vehicle so you can't get the ProPILOT Assist, you got to look at the Rogue for that. But if you're gonna consider the Murano versus the Rogue, we've done a full comparison of the two vehicles and you can check out my comparison, we'll put that link in the description below. But the reason why you would buy this is just for that added acceleration and you get the kind of luxury feel, a bit bigger vehicle and you get this v6 engine. So there's quite a few reasons to pay the extra money and step up to this. The seats are incredibly comfortable, Nissan has the zero gravity seats which they're known for and I do like this nice leatherette that they added to the SV model. In terms of safety, you're gonna get all the safety features, the full Nissan Safety Suite, automatic high beam assist, you'll get the forward emergency braking, the rear emergency braking, the blind spot monitor, lane departure with the haptic feedback on the wheel, speed sign recognition is gonna come right up on your digital dash here. So there's quite a few nice features you get with this 7-inch advanced driver assist display which is in between the gauges, you'll get the digital speedometer, you'll get your fuel economy, all those types of things. Sounds phenomenal, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay you're also gonna get as well. Not wireless yet, you still got to plug in but there's quite a few USBs if you want to plug in your phone and use those but it already has everything you need. This is one of the first vehicles that Nissan puts standard navigation in, so navigation comes on every model which is a big selling feature. You get navigation and you get the Nissan Connect system, you can play songs from your phone, so there's quite a lot of tech in the vehicle. Obviously this is the middle package, the SV but now it has the leather, like I think this car has everything you need. I don't know, like if comment below if you guys like this one or would you pay the extra money to go up to the SL or the Platinum.
