Sport is a great environment that can help kids exercise, have fun, learn new skills, etc. Therefore, most parents put a lot of effort into helping their kid athletes achieve accomplishment and place a lot of expectations on them. However, unrealistic expectations from parents put unnecessary pressure on these young athletes. This pressure negatively affects children' mental and physical well-being.

Parents playing appropriate roles and working well with coaches will help children learn independence, confidence, to protect themselves from injury, and to maintain a balance of physical and mental health.
