Good evening from Manila Pier 4 port. So we're standing in a departures gate at the moment
on the way to a ferry which is going to take us on a 24-hour trip from here in Manila to the island
of Cebu. We've had this plan for quite a while and we're incredibly excited about it. So yeah
it's boarding now let's get going. Thank you so much. I was preparing myself to act really cool
today but I can't. I'm so excited. I've never been on a boat and this. So there are a few
different options like tickets that you can get. I know there is one you can get where you sleep
with like six people. I think there is more like 24, 12. But all the tickets were sold out so
we had to buy a suit. You just had to buy the suit, right? I said the suit, the suite.
You wouldn't know it's on the boat, would you? It's so huge. It's made bigger.
We have a toilet. What? Look at the size of it as well. There is even a shower.
So as Julia said we're in the suite room and for this we forked out $50 per person so $100
for a 24-hour trip and that includes our three meals. So it's 11.30 now so it'll be breakfast,
lunch and dinner tomorrow and all of the accommodation. I think that's a pretty
sweet deal to be honest when you factor in food and accommodation. I'm well chuffed with it. It's
probably the best hotel we've had in a long while. So we're meant to leave at 9.30 in the morning
but it got delayed so we're leaving at 11.30 in the evening now. We think it should take about
24 hours to get to Cebu but apparently we'll hear an announcement when the boat leaves so
we'll let you know then. Right the time is actually nine o'clock and we don't leave for another two
and a half hours but we thought let's go and have a look around the boat. So let's go and have a
look around the boat. So the time is 11 o'clock we've actually set off a little bit early so
tomorrow breakfast is between 6 and 8. So we've got an early start in the morning so I think for
now we're just gonna hit the sack. So see you tomorrow. Good morning. So last night we went to
bed at 11 but we actually woke up a couple of times and headed out onto the deck which was
against the rules by the way so don't do that. Rebels! We went out to look at the stars which
were absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately we couldn't capture it on the camera. It just
looked like a black sky but yeah they were really really amazing and yeah because of that we didn't
get off again until about six. So breakfast started at six. Needless to say we missed it.
So the time now is 11 o'clock. We woke up a little while ago. We're about halfway through the journey
and we're going through past the island at the moment of Romblon. Looks really really beautiful
but lunch is just starting and we are now very hungry so let's go and grab some food. After lunch
we returned back to our room where we did a bit of work, read our books, played some games on our
phones, watched Netflix, ate a bit of chocolate and then we went back out for a walk around the boat.
Most beautiful sunset I've ever seen I think ever. So so good. Did you notice the size of the sun?
I didn't. Matt pointed it out and it was just huge. I've never seen sun so big. So close.
All right so apparently the ship's run out of water so we've got everything in takeaway boxes
so we've got rice, some more veg and fish. First I thought he said catfish but then he said no it's
not catfish. It's something else so we didn't we didn't hear. But it looks and smells absolutely
amazing. It's in like a sweet and sour sauce. Let's give it a go. It seems like the same sauce as
chicken was earlier. It's delicious. Yeah it's actually really really good. I thought the fish was
gonna be really bony but it's not at all. It's really really nice. It's been deep fried on the
top as well so you can see that it's got a nice crispy top which is beautiful. It just gives it
a different texture. It's nice. So the time is 12 o'clock. We're about an hour late but we're finally
pulling into Cebu. So I'm going to get packed up and get off the ship.
