Join our epic journey from Tropea towards Sardinia were we basically find it all;) We are lucky with the weather (even if we got up to 40 knots at some point) and the crew got along well! We tried our Atlantic crossing timetable and it worked out great! Best of all we caught some fish and learned a lot. One of our crew members is an experienced regatta sailor so we will fly across the Atlantic ocean;) Stay tuned on the next steps of preparation, still a few things to add before we are able to sail across the Atlantic ocean into the Caribbean!

We are currently cooking for our crew to come because we start to Sardinia.
We have not had crew on Fortuna for some time now and so we're really looking forward especially
because this is a really really special crew. It's actually the same crew or a part of the crew
that we're going to do the Atlantic crossing together. So this is our first kind of
trial crossing and we're actually going to sail from Poppea to Sardinia.
Hello!
And we are finally sailing after having to motor for about yeah almost 20 hours because we had
no wind at all. We have finally about seven to eight knots so we decided to take the sails out
and are now sailing with about three knots slowly towards Sardinia. On the other hand we took these
calm times to show our crew all the yeah little sneaks and peeks of Fortuna, all the security
equipment obviously which is very important when you come on a boat. We normally do that before we
leave port but we were on a really really tight schedule so we immediately left port once the
crew arrived and yeah we're getting all along well and that's really good because as I already
mentioned this is going to be part of our Atlantic cruise so we are really looking forward
to enjoy some good sails together.
So this is our magical table Greta made like after five tries she managed to get it somehow right.
Now we are doing thirds of three hours so everyone like in pairs does three hours with
four hours sleep and once five hours sleep so everyone can do night, day, sunset and sunrise
and we got always two people in charge on deck basically. Yeah we are actually already
over one third. No it's not the whole table it's only until Saturday. Looks very good.
Yes we were called to one finalist which was on our fishing rods and it's a tuna.
Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome.
Wow three tunas, small ones but three. What a morning, what a morning. After the tunas
it was like crazy because like after the first tuna there was something swimming
behind our boat and it was a turtle like I thought what the hell is going on. I did not see it.
There was a turtle and it was like swimming out with the head in the water and turning all around.
Unbelievable and then like five minutes after the next tuna, crazy. One minute after the next tuna.
We had wind the whole night which was really nice so we had always wind from the south
bringing us. In the morning when the tunas came also the wind changed.
Now we have wind from the north but it's okay it's about 14 knots so we're
quite going speedy. What are we about five knots? Five to six knots with 12 to 15 knots of wind
on the nose and we still have about 150 miles to go so we are over halfway.
Well this was a busy day. We went from tuna to dolphins, from zero wind to 30 knots,
from wind from the south, wind from the north, waves, snow waves, turtles.
We are so dirty. But yeah the day is slowly coming to an end or kind of it's five. It's so
strange with this new shifts that we kind of brought up. The days kind of blend into one
another but it's still going good and we are a little bit more stable now. Unfortunately the
wind went down so we're motoring. We have no actual weather report anymore so our weather
report is now three days old. So let's see how true it still is and it's looking a little bit
dark around so hopefully it doesn't rain too much.
We made it to Sardinia safe and sound. We arrived at about one o'clock in the night
so we decided not to enter directly harbor but to stay out for a night.
So we managed to go swimming in the morning before we headed into harbor the day afterwards.
